hello everyone, sorry I'm pretty sure this has been asked many times but doing a search came up with nothing.

so my question is what springs can I buy that will lift my Jetta but keeping the body lines parallel to the street.

so right now I'm trying to figure out if I need to mismatch springs (ex: vr6 fronts with passat sedan rears.

so id like to know what is some of the best combination and it would be perfect if someone could post some pictures to see how much of a lift it would provide, ( the higher the better, as I'm tired of 'falling' into my seat.)

TIA

No TDIs Currently, I have an R36 Corrado. I've had an ALH Corrado swap, AHU Corrado swap and 2003 TDI Jetta
It hasn't been asked much. I think that last time was a couple years ago.

The mk4 kit will not work on a Mk3.

There was a kit for the mk2 that was on the Golf Country cars(not sold in Norrth america). It was a roll cage of sorts for the underside the had spacers for all of the suspension mounting points.

You might want to look for an old artcile in european car about how ABD built a Golf Country look alike Golf without the rare country suspension lift cage. I think they used coilovers and had them at the highest setting. You might also want to see what a guy in the mk2 vortex forums did on his mk2 golf with a tdi swap and sycro. His is lifted pretty hight too.

the mk2 and mk3 suspensions are nearly identical.

What about coilovers? Maybe even custom (longer) springs on said coilovers. Here's a shot of my Konis:

The car is lowered about 1.25" in front. So you can see there's plenty of thread available to raise it back to stock and perhaps another inch or two. Installing a taller spring would give more options, including a softer spring if you don't want the ride to be too harsh.

Good Luck,

Scott

thanks Scott for the pictures helps a lot to visualize, right now my rear is only on spring the shocks are finished so right now I'm going to collect a lot of money to do this properly.

I already bought shocks (blisten tc) but if coilovers are better I'll sell it

Front struts from the B4 passat will fit and give you 1-2 inches. Maybe spacers under rear springs to make it level.

I've been looking for a definitive way to lift a B4V but asides from upgrading to 205/65-15's, there's not much agreement out there. It's not just road clearance to avoid curbstones, ruts, and roadkill - if I can keep from climbing down into the driver's seat, my stiff old body is grateful. No, I'm not going to do yoga.

lol getting in and out of my Jetta is relatively easy compared to trying to get into a 2008 malibu for the size of the car sure feels like I'm trapped inside.
