Îm a new owner of a 2013 tdi hightline and actually my first VW:rolleyes: happy so far but it's probably the worst factory headlight i ever had so far (factory H7). I'm looking into error free LED or HID:confused: any ideas?

I can relate with the need for extra vision at night, I also live where there is large game on the road.

If you go with HID's you want the full housings that are intended to mount them not just the bulbs otherwise they are not very friendly to oncoming drivers. Having said that I did consider using 55w HID's in my high beams only - I still may try it at some point. I ended up going with Phillips X-Treme Vision bulbs in all four positions. They are considerably brighter then the standard H7's. Though they are not quite as impressive as the factory HID's on my wife's Mercedes.

Silverstar Ultras went in the day I bought my car. On ALL the front lights. I travel in "deer country" too. They are a VAST improvement to the OEM bulbs.

if you think the mk7 headlights are bad, try driving an mk4...

i honestly don't find the stock headlights too bad, i did upgrade to a better H7 bulb than the factory one and it made it a bit better. have you checked your headlight alignment? i know mine was angled way too low from the dealer.
