2000 mk4 Jetta tdi 1.9 alh manual trans. I replaced the drivers side drive axel (broke at the cup) new one works fine but I’m wondering if I messed up a gasket or seal when replacing it. I’m leaking brown/red ish fluid by the spot on the axel where it connects to the transmission. I had to take the adapter cup out to take the snapped bolt out of the threads. I thought I put it back together carefully but I guess not. After a drive I got back home and realized the leak right about where the axel connects to the transmission but none of this fluid was on the axel cup or the axel, the leak also stops after about 5 minutes of sitting. Mainly it was just spewed all over the surrounding components of the car all the way to the wheel itself. I checked the transmission fluid and it’s a green or pink color (forgive my lack of color description this was a month or so ago and I have a horrible memory) so that hardly seems right for it to be that considering the brown red color leak. I’ve decided it’s probably differential fluid. Is that something that I could have messed up by replacing a axel and the axel adapter cup? Forgive my lack of knowledge I’m more of a YouTube diy guy I like to work on cars and learn and also save myself the typical 100$ per hour tax on good mechanic labor. Please don’t cook me I’m just having a hard time diagnosing this leak so I can fix it :)

Video works here.
I can say that if you mixed pink and green coolant, the result is a not-good brown. Mixing coolant is a bad thing. So if you can rule that out, then it looks to me like gear box oil that's water contaminated. But take that with a grain of salt since I can't pinpoint the leak source from the video. I'm sure others will chime in.
