I'd like to do the check out the intake and do the CCV bypass, and if there is enough time, to have a look see at the intercooler..

if nothing else, id like to get the CCV done.

Awesome !!!!! I have talked to Micro-Audio and they are nearing completion of their RD in regards to marketing the Micro-Audio system. This translates into them shipping a unit to install at the GTG of their latest and greatest improved system for the GTG !!!! I am really stoked to get my hands on it since it has been a year since they discontinued the system because of supplier reliability concerms !!! Talking to Landon he ensured me the system is far beyond the previous system in addition to boosting a 10" subwoofer and much higher reliability !!!!!
Even if you are not heavy into the audiophyle scene this system looks to take your stock speakers and head unit and to translate it into a ASS-Kicking system with a maxmium install time of 2 hours which I hope to verify at the GTG!!!!!!
Lets hope it shows up in time to do a communal install and analysys of the overall sound system!!!!

Anyone sitting on the sidelines this is starting to look like the event of the year for the West coast - dont miss it!!

Heinz57, Would your wife mind if this became a week long festival? With all thats going on, I don't want to miss anything. I am having the chip from James installed by Garrett, want to do the boost gauge, if the pod arrives, and the intercooler cleaning. My springs should also be sitting there waiting for install, too. My little jetta isn't going to know what hit it. At least I'll be able to make better time on the way home.
This is going to be alot of fun.

Another breaking developement for the GTG is the custom Logo of TDI Tribe stickers being manufactured as I write this. 3" x 6" with the TDI in red with speed lines and tribe in silver cursive offset on the bottom - Really nice looking. Cost will be $2.75 with a additional suggested donation of your choosing that will be turned over to Fred's to cover some expenses of the site. There will only be 20 Stickers available and only at the GTG !!

I have been playing around with converting my yellow sidemarkers to clear and hit paydirt last night by finally finding all the right combinations. There is enough materials for another 4-6 sets of light for those considering doing it. If you elect not to paint the body but only replace the lens it would take about an hour per set plus 1-2 hours for the glue to set before you can drive. Materials are FREE except for the yellow lightbulbs - just your time and labor required.
Remember also I do have an extra dozen VW OEM electrical connectors and managed to get enough wiring for whatever is needed. The only thing I am short of are standard male/female connectors - if anyone has a box please bring some. Another Item not listed yet is that I will also hook up my rear fogs.

I'm back around guys, I just started a topic on convoying down. Since we only have a week before the event, I hope it isn't too late to get this together... I will be coming down with my wife and here sister Jane (who I think some of you now know).

. . . I've been trying to avoid reading this thread, but I caved. Why did my dad have to be born so close to July 21st!?! I have to drive to Ephrata and back that day to visit him for his birthday (but at least I get to do it in my TDI). This sounds great. I wish I could make it.

If it does pour over into Sunday, let me know and I will be there for the second half.

Heinz this is funny, I have been working on the side indicator lights too, but I can't find the right plastic material. So I am in for the lights. I have some paint (black transparent) but this takes about 3 hours to dry... but looks very good on a dark car. I'll bring it.
See you Saturday.

Good luck Mr. B.C. dude. Unless DL knows something NONE of us do,,, there isnt ANY good diesel in this area! It's all junk. NO cetane, sulphur to the moon. I've used 3oz of Amsoil cetane boost, AND 3oz of Amsoil diesel additive in EVERY tank since new! I'll bring some extra Amsoil boost for you if you'd like.

J.T. Check out jbreitbarth posting on July 10, Topic Fuels and Oils, ARCO Low Sulfur diesel #2 in Western Washington. He says there is an ARCO station selling 50 cetane in Tacoma, he lists several locations. You might want to check it out.

You know J.T., some of the TDI Rally cars run on biodiesel. You might want to try this high cetane, high lubricity, no sulphur and low emissions racing fuel in your car

Hi Heinz,

I would love to get one of the TDI Tribe stickers on the 21st. It would look good on my TDI for my up coming trip to San Diego on the 25th.

See you all on the 21st.
