Keyless problem.

Well, got my Passat back from the body shop yesterday, and the good news is that the body work is excelent. The bad news is the keyless locks don't work (they did when they got it - even with the damage), and I get 'Keyless Defective' in the MFD.

VCDS has the error 1058315 - Interior Antenna 2 - open circuit, which would appear to be the culprit (they had to redo just abouf 100% of the trunk area), and I suspect a botched reassembly, since the code returns on clear.

Can anyone give me any idea where this is located, and where to look? It still reads the fobs fine to start - only unlock/driver setting recall is down, but vacation starts tomorrow (3000 miles in the car) and I'll miss those perks . . .

I'm searching elsawin... still learning it.... i do see mention of r136, rear bumper aerial for entry and start system, under rear shelf. Also r139, interior aerial 2 for entry and start system. All connect to j518, entry and start authorisation control unit which is next to the steering column, near center console.

I'll keep looking

Bingo! Connector not fully mated. Seated it, and keyless now working. Code verifed to have gone from hard to intermittent, and cleared. I'm golden, and owe you one!

Gotta love 3 minute, no tool fixes that the dealer says they need 2 days for, even after you tell them the code . . .

Thanks,

- Tim

Glad i could help :) i billed an insurance company years ago for a friends golf. Body shop plugged in an unused (for cd changer option) wire into an unused socket in the taillights. Back fed 12v constant power through the lighting circuit - all sorts of weird problems! The body shop gave up and farmed it out to me. Decent $ for 15 minutes of work.

I know what you mean - I think I just saved my Insurance Co. at least $250 that I'll never see. I guess my reward is having the car working in a far more timely manner.

Hi. Replying to a ten year old post here but, where did you find the rear antenna 2 or, where did you find the root of your problem. The symptoms match exactly that I have in my 2015 Passat.

Any help or direction would be massively appreciated (given its a 5 min fix) 👍

Your welcome, if I remember correctly, kessy would intermittently work on the door handles, but the car would start fine. Not sure if a cup of coffee that was spilled on one side of the back seat was the cause, the coffee cup was sitting in the cupholder in the center of the back seat before it tipped over.
