Keyless (KESSY) Door Handle Repair

Hey guys,

The driver front door handle on my 2011 Highline is apparently NFG. Has anyone ever successfully repaired one of these rather than outright replacement?

I'd be interested to try, I'm fairly good with electronics I'm just curious to know what goes wrong with these before I tear everything apart.

They are permanent glued .
AS far as I know only AUDI have repair set for kessy door handle
In a fact i never hear that MK6 , Skoda , passat have issue with this

What error you have ?

It says "CHECK KEYLESS" in the cluster and the door handle touch to unlock feature does not work.

I will recommend to do a VCDS diagnostic to see an error
Might be a wire for example .
I remember while I did my Kessy , and did not fit door handle, It always show me Kessy Defective .
Never seen a Check Kessy

Anyway - do a diagnostic 1st before you will start disasembly parts

Any tips on accessing the wiring loom inside the door? I watched a YouTube video about the door panel removal and that looks easy enough but there's an inner panel in there too.

Did you ever get this resolved? My touch to lock/unlock just stopped working on drivers side only. Getting the open circuit fault in VCDS for the touch sensor. No warnings on MFD for key detection to start and passenger and trunk work fine for touch unlock/lock. Workshop manual says door handle must be replaced as a complete unit and that antenna and touch sensor are in the handle.

There are also instructions for replacing the handle in the manual. I guess I'll remove the door panel and see if there's a loose connection first.
