Hello all!
Since I changed my Cadillac for my first VW in 2012, I've missed doing my own maintenance since the car was on warranty. But then, I had a deal to trade my 2012 SE manual for a 2013 SEL DSG due to a lot of issues with the car. When I saw the bill with my 60 000 kms (40k miles) maintenance: 800$, I bought the Ross-Tech cable directly from their websites.
First of all, great service from Ross-Tech. I bought a HEX-USB-CAN cable online. less than 24 hours later, Fedex was at my door and I live in Montreal so thats fast!
What I've done so far:
-disable warning on navigation when typing and driving
-cluster staging under indication_celebration
-adjust avg fuel consumption
-adjust speed (before 10% up, now I'm 3% up with winter tires)
-enable emergency light when abs is engaged
-climatronic staging
There's a lot more that I want to do but I have to work too so it will wait a bit.
I know there's a thread for VCDS and what to do with it, but I just want to say that for those who hesitate buying the cable, DO IT!! it worth the investment.
