Just Purchased, several oil leaks

Just purchased 2014 Passat TDI SEL with 121k miles. Has all maintenance records, timing belt and water just replaced. Got the price down due to noticeable oil leaks. One leak is obviously valve cover and injector seals. Dealer wants $950 labor, and parts at $300. Looks straight forward from all the post I've seen. Just worried about priming up fuel after finished. Any info on that? The other leak is at the front of engine, just to the right of the oil dip stick. The dip stick actually attached to the housing. I am assuming it is EGR valve? Should I remove, clean and replace gaskets?

There are just too many to list....
Common (almost guaranteed) oil leak spots on the CKRA:

valve cover (the whole thing, not just the gasket)

cam seal (I "downgrade" to the older style that isn't as prone to leaking... takes a trick to get it installed, but works)

oil filter housing (there is an upgraded aluminum one available in the aftermarket)

There is no concern with bleeding the fuel system, just a couple seconds of cranking and it'll fire right up.

These are all pretty involved repairs.

You've got a part number for the older style cam seal?

It is what the ALH and a bunch of other VAG engines use... the standard Elring 32x47x10 cam seal.

It's just that you need to carefully, with a small pick, walk the inner lip over the cam, because the CKRA doesn't use the conical end on the cam, and the gasser cam seal install sleeve won't fit. But with a little patience and a tiny bit of lube, you can get it started on there, then drive it home with the standard seal installer drift tool that VAG uses for most all the belt driven inline 4 cyl engines sold here for the last nearly half century.

That's the easy part. Getting the old seal OUT is tricky.... even with the SST, it can still be a pain, and if you mangle it up too much, the SST won't grab it, then you get to pull out even more SSTs to lock the cams and disassemble the cam bridge. Not fun.

I just did the valve cover and injector seals on one last week. They're not too bad to do, but I had a heck of a time getting one of the injectors out. To the OP I rent the cam seal removal tool if needed.

Narrowed down the leaks, valve cover gasket seeping, but the injector seals seem worse. What is the recommendation for replacement. Seen complete kits with gaskets and valve cover. Best brands besides OEM? Are the injector seals removable or made part the cover? Also, going to clean EGR valve and shutter. And change all the gaskets. Looks like Elring gaskets are reasonable and good quality. Thanks for all the help.

The CKRA's injector body passes through the valve cover, and the seals are part of the cover. There is an o-ring on the injector that seals down in the bore of the head, and a copper crush washer on the very end that seals the tip from the combustion chamber.

You need a new valve cover.

Thanks for all the input. 2 hour job, took it easy with no rush to ensure cleanliness. Changing the daytime running light bulb through the fender access was much worse. lol. Valve cover was my only leak at this time and is now fixed. Purchased Fuel injector install kit and VEICO valve cover (gasket, seals and bolts included) for $185 from ID parts. I decided to buy the injector removal tool from amazon for $49.99. Made it simple.
