So I picked up a bit of a steal for 4k, less than 100k on a new engine - body’s over 400- but fully loaded.

it’s got some issues here and there, like the climatronic system isn’t blowing any air currently, needs a delete of the dpf, cat, egr and def system, needs a tune, the auto start isn’t working currently, the aux cable came loose from the bracket or something under the armrest, struts or mount needs replacing, havent thrown it on the lift yet to look at the ball joints and tie rods and stuff but it needs and alignment, a ding here or there and some little bit of rust starting and some oddities like the glovebox won’t lock with the key.

what level tune would be appropriate for this bad boy, stage 1? 1.5? 2?

anyone got a suggestion of where to look or have suggestions on how to fix certain stuff with the car?
Anything to look out for? Let’s hear it :)

Well turns out the blower motor was just seized, i took the cabin air filter out and then after about an hour of it being out... it just randomly kicked on, squealed a bunch and then has been working ever since, with some intermittent squealing

learned i have to try and re-key the lock cylinder in the glovebox and trunk hatch under the arm rest... anyone ever give those ones a whirl?

just got the downpipe and stage 2 + dsg tunes from buzzken, definitely gave the car some more life, even though I drive it as a cruiser for mileage

I posted in another thread, but if anyones got a link for a thread of what i should look at in regards to the keyless not working and the "prestart" which im assuming are linked

probably some other problems ill notice with the car as i go along :p but all in all, never wanna go back to a jetta.

Not sure about rekeying the glove box, but I got lucky finding my valet Key in a junkyard passat.

My sister's Passat I got ahold of the trunk passthrough and 3D printed her valet key for her. That was fun.

The remote start is kind of stupid and I only use it to cool down my cab in the summer time.

yeah I found a few videos on getting the cylinder out and rekeying… currently going the trunk pass through and it’s a *****…. Damn stupid to get this cylinder out

The remote start is definitelyyyy useful to me, especially in the winter

Yea, I tried taking out the tumbler out and gave up.

What's wrong with your remote start?

Complete ****ing mistake going after the tumbler… there’s a “valet” key that’s a little plastic black key that you keep to kick the pass through and the glove box

remote start just isn’t working. Double click it and nothing happens. Keyless isn’t working either, somethings disconnected, me thinks it happened in the engine swap, but I haven’t been able to find where to look other than an obscure pic somewhere that didn’t explain anything

Yea I had a tumbler from a junkyard car that was totaled, I destroyed the housing and figure out how it works and after trial and error printing keys I got my sisters glovebox, rear seat passthrough, and the rear seat folding down lock. For the hassle I would just order from the dealer the valet key...

for the kessy system not working with the remote start, that sucks. whats the error code for that?

My remote start will not work if an engine code is present, makes sense to protect the motor. Try to run VCDS and good luck, John
