As most of you can see, i'm a lurker, not posting much. I've received my packet and registered.
2010 Sportwagen ... 8685 original miles, as of 8-18-16, and hasn't been moved. 6 speed, no nav or sunroof.
VW offer: $15,300.00 for the vehicle.
$ 6,046.73 Cash payment.
Total: $21,346.73
Spoke with the VW lawyer this morning. My question was, and I realize this won't apply to everyone........
What about the following payback for these?
1. NJ sales tax.... $1,680.00
2. NJ registration transfer and tags.... $246.00, PLUS $99.00 dealer clerical/documentary fees.
3. NJ tire fee... 1.50 per tire/ $7.50.
Total: $1,933.50
The lawyer, Zack Bowler informed me that these out of pocket expenses, I paid, will not be refunded by VW
The problem is this, subtracting these figures from the 6,046.83, brings the cash payment down to $4,113.23, which is below the "minimum" stated by VW of $5,100.00.
Has anyone spoken with their VW area rep and questioned this? While not all states don't have these charges, common sense tells me that most will have them.
Waiting for other examples from TDI owners.
