Just bought 2012 q7 tdi and it was driving great then all of a sudden shut off going down the interstate at 78 mph. Got the car to the shoulder let it sit for a few mins, tried to start it back up and it had the blicking coil and just clicked. Scanned it and got this. Where do I even begin?

Start with getting it towed the rest of the way. With all those faults together it would lead me to suspect wiring faults, but hard to know. Does it crank but not start now? If so, whats the fuel rail pressure while cranking?

Start with getting it towed the rest of the way. With all those faults together it would lead me to suspect wiring faults, but hard to know. Does it crank but not start now? If so, whats the fuel rail pressure while cranking?
It's been towed to a shop. So it had the blinking glow plug light and then when I'd turn the keep a couple clicks then nothing. Like 2-3 clicks maybe. I do know that the previous owner just replaced the oil cooler so maybe when he did that he didnt put something back correctly.

Your battery is junk.... this could be due to battery being junk, or a starting circuit issue... do a voltage drop test on the circuit to figure it out.

Did it have a battery light come on before it died?
Also with that mechanical bind code... I'd check if the engine is locked up.

I dont remeber seeing the battery light come on before it died. Would the light have stayed on? Car litterally lost power and had to get to the shoulder immediately.

How many MILs were on your dash while you were driving before it actually shut down on its own?
I'd suspect that you had at least a DPF + coil + CEL + oil light lit up already..... maybe even flashing.

You DPF was over capacity 30k kms ago!
There were a lot of issues that came up within the last 3 kms of driving.... looks like a potential mechanical failure due to 2 cylinders\injectors acting up and a potential loss of oil pressure.....
This combined with the non cranking current condition leads me to believe you have a catastrophic failure.

Thats who the car was purchased from. He's trying to find answers as well. All the info that I've told you is from what I was told by my GF who was driving the car and I was following her. We just want some answers hopefully we get some from the shop today. Thanks for your time, its greatly appreciated.

Just reading through everything else, I would be checking to see if the engine is locked up. From all the description and information I see, it sounds like the oil pressure dropped and locked the engine up. It could be something else, but that is where I would start.
Ironically I just worked on an Isuzu truck yesterday that the customer brought the starter in to get rebuilt. I rebuilt it and put it on, and it barely cranked, they then said that it had died on them at one time and it wouldn't start, they thought they put gas in the fuel tank...
When I put a ratchet on the crank though I found that the issue was.more than that... the engine was locked up..pulling the oil pan revealed a ton of metal shavings in the bottom of the pan...

Wow. Thats alot of expensive faults. I'd pull the serp belt off and see if you can crank the engine over by hand. If the engine can move, check to see if the alternator is seized. That can cause the engine not to turn over, Judging by that fault. if it isnt seized, and you cant turn the engine over, sounds like its locked up.

Judging by those faults as well, you need a DPF and battery unless its been drained from trying to crank. Looks like also the flap motor for the manifold is causing an issue. This all could be very expensive.
