Yea bread is great for all the pig sammiches that will be consumed. Deep fried turkey usually happens as well so bread is a must... Thanks!

ill handle some of the disposables, if someone else steps up we can each cover half of whats needed. I'll take care of the plastic forks, knives, spoons, and napkins and paper towels.

I will have to find a farm stand and bring some zuchini, cucumber, watermellon, tomatoes, to the meat fest, I will contribute to the coffers since beer is to heavy to travel by car. I can bring dehydrated rice. You supply the water...

What does a watermelon weigh? Specific gravity of pretty darned near to 1.

Bah! I put 15 cases of Buzzards Bay and a sousaphone in the back of my '01 Golf back in Oct of '02. Still got 47mpg on the trip home.

Well, unfortunately both my TDI's are out of service.... The black 03 ALH monster is awaiting a built 5spd racing trans w/Pelonquin LSD, and my gray 04 PD is awaiting a 5spd swap (due to the failed tiptronic).... Looks like I'll be rockin my Jeep Liberty to this event.... I need it to carry all my cooking/music gear anyways...

Well that is a buzz kill I was hoping to take another spin in the monster. Oh by the since this is the food thread, 30#s of wings, 10# dry rubbed for the grill, 20# brined for the fryer, hotel pan of baked beans. As well as some really good beer and pbr in the bottle see ya all tomorrow.

Not to press the thought, but bringing beer to PA from MA is makes as much sense as importing wine or water from Australia, yes it can travel, but what is the point. the veggies are really to balance the car, same specific density as a semi-conscious human. The farm stand will be somewhere on 209/6 PA, 199 PA, or 44 CT. the road less traveled by, mo road for me!

Does it make any more sense to drive 200 miles for a pig roast? You could go to your local supermarket and buy a pork roast and have dinner at home.

The nice thing about the GTGs is that many of the attendees travel from semi-distant places, and often bring beer from their area that cannot be purchased at the GTG locale. If I make it tomorrow, I plan to find a package store and bring back some Yuengling, as we can't buy it here in Mass.

If i may and if it is available - may i suggest the Stegmaier as a better alternative (just MHO) to the yuengling. Its brewed in good ole wilkes barre, pa. The porter is amazing, and there other varieties are really good as well - its the only brewery in america that makes its black and tan by actually combining an ale and the porter.

Wal-Mart starts selling beer at 8am.
I intend to be on the road by 0730h and arrive about 0930h.
I will also bring lemon, lime, pomegranate, black cherry, and raspberry line polar seltzer 12 packs.
If you want me to bring more than one pack of each, let me know by 0715h tomorrow so I can put it in the Jetta.
I have 17 packs of each lemon, lime, pomegranate, and black cherry flavors. More than I safely fit.

Ok...I'll be bringing along about 20lbs of "State Fair" marinated chicken thighs and drums....36 hours of soaking up that goodness should make mighty fine grill'n and eat'n.

For Topher...I'll stop by the local beer distributor and see if they have a case of Steg porter on hand and bring that along. I'm partial to porters and stouts myself...I tend to like the Yeungling porter...never tried the Steg, even though it's brewed 15 minutes from my house.

The boy has a t-ball game at 10am...so I probably won't get there until around 12-1pm. If we end up needing anything else I can run and get it...I work right down the road from the fest location and know where everything is.

Sorry I had to split early (4:30 p.m. is apparently real early. I can't imagine how late things will go tonight / tomorrow morning).

I was intending on leaving at 4, but the band ROCKED! and I couldn't leave until at least hearing their first set.

The tuna / mac salad was the best! Thanks to whoever mixed it up and to whoever brought it.

Good weather, too. I didn't hit any rain until almost to the CT/MA border about 7 pm, but it poured all day here in MA according to my wife.
