It was cool - until he landed in the fire! Although the flying embers from the spinning tire were really wild in the dark.

Yeah - it was later on last year. I got there late, just in time for a tune from Jeff. Jay was making a couple of jumps over the fire. I think he said the gas was turned off and he ran out right before one of the later jumps. Someone caught the video on their phone. Pretty wild and no one got hurt. Jay is a trained professional :)

I sooo want to go to this but can't even pencil it in yet due to short notice mandatory OT at work. I've been lucky so far. The trick is to not answer the phone when it rings even when your mother's number comes up in the caller ID :D  . And never ever never give them your cell phone #

Hey Jason,
I think I would make a few people happy,
I have 6-7 for now, and maybe more by this Sat all "2010" cars to be tuned..
So just coming there for 99 cars is a waste of time.
Maybe Jeff R if he would like to show his tuning capability we could get together on a dyno after September once it gets slow.

There is a large difference between wanting to do .....and doing business.

Best

Jeff comes to tune a variety of cars... Last year he tuned a few 1.8T's, and if everything goes right, I'll be bringing a 2004 Audi S4 (Edit)BHF.. I have to get the engine back in it though..

I am trying to convince Vanessa that she needs RC2 for her 2dr. Probably would be nice compliment to the transporter nozzles.

I am glad I have the PIGFEST to look forward too. This week is already too long....

Good luck with that time bomb! Hopefully you upgraded the turbos!

Nevermind, missed the BHW part!

S4 with BHW stuffed in it only has one turbo.

Sounds awesome - no problem Jason!

Hence the "Nevermind, missed the BHW part!" And the fact it is a 2004...Ok, I am dumb!

Def. sounds cool though!

I need my Jetta tune upgraded too. I had hoped to have the ECU out of the Beetle and ready, but I'm not going to get that far. I'll have to ship that one out when the VNT17 gets installed.

The new 17/22 turbo in the Jetta is sweet, but it needs better control. It's a little laggy at first and then overboosts. I pinned the gauge at 32psi a couple of times before calibrating my foot to prevent it. Just in case, I have a new N75 on it's way.

Ummm... both of you are wrong haha.. the (edit)BHF V8 has no turbos... Naturally aspirated 4.2V8.. 345hp.. 2004 and 2005 S4's had the V8 as the only option here in the states..

Either way it should be ready.. we got it bolted in tonight, just need to finish connecting everything and toss the nose back on and see how it runs..

haha, yeah let's put an engine with less than half the power in it.. It might at least get better than 16mpg though... But then again, you don't buy an Audi S4 for fuel economy...

On another note.. the S4 won't be at the pig roast.. turns out over the past few months the entire radiator support with everything on it (rad, condenser, ps coolers, fans, fan controller, harness, etc...) disappeared.. $2500 worth of stuff.. Gone... the only things we have left are the bumper cover and headlights..

Been there, done that. Out with the 172 hp AAA and in with a 90 hp 1Z. It was an improvement, believe me.

I hear complete BHW drivelines with cooling systems can be had for cheap. Probably drop into the S4.
Think of the performance gains possible! No propshaft and heavy rear drive, no clutch pedal adding weight,...;)

Haha, I think the only performance gain would be the fuel economy... The BHF V8 engine is light enough for 2 people to carry, even fully assembled.. The whole thing is aluminum/magnesium except for the rotating assembly.. 345hp/7000rpm from something that light is pretty nice..

Wow it's this coming Saturday! I better take a look at the food thread and post what I will bring. TDIJetta99, I think you said you will have VCDS. Do you have the paper manuals for the B4? If so can you bring that also? I am having some problems with the Jetta wireless alarm/remote in my Passat. Thanks.

How is the ground around the GTG site? We've gotten around 4" of rain the past week in our area-I don't know if any of the rain has passed where this will be held-ground still solid,or will it become a nice muddy mess w/ all the tdi's???

the front yard might be a little soft, but it should be fine as we haven't gotten a ton of rain down here and it's suppost to be a gorgeous day...

The yard was kinda soft last year as it rained ALL the day before the event... minimal to no mud.... tons of cars driving on the grass.... the only muddy spots were in the puddles in the driveway really.

Jason, is Sammy gonna put up that huge tarp thing again? Also shelter for the band? Unfortunately, we're looking at 50% chance rain for Saturday so that massive tarp will be super important....If you guys need help on Friday night setting stuff up, let me know.

Sporadic rain should not be bad. I think it will be sunny with the occasional thunderstorm passing through now and then. Highs in the 80s lows in the 60s. TDIs all day.......sounds good to me.

People should not be put off by the weather. It was overcast all day last year with occasional drizzle, and it was STILL an awesome time!!! Jason is right, it was not muddy last year, plenty of grass to sop up that moister.

This event is not to be missed!!:D

Setting up cover for the band is a good idea.. give Sammy a shout about that since I won't be there friday night until really late.. I'll text you his phone number. I have a big piece of carpet for you guys to set up stuff on..
