Had a good day in Calgary and collected a few missing bits that I needed and some that I didn’t NEED so much.
Got a spare 3.89 EUT diff (for future operation wavetrac!)
Spare set of 17Z calipers
Spare 18Z calipers to hopefully fund other stuff.
BMW cam sensor (for VSS on the GVE)
GVE prop shaft shroud since it wasn’t included on my wrecker trans
C5 sport 18mm rear sway bar from a sport package C5 A6 4.2.
The 4.2 had the nice sport seats in black leather as well but I’m out of space and the driver’s seat bolster was in rough shape.

I met up with a friend here too and secured some of the missing parts for the BSM delete including: ALH windage tray, BRM pump sprocket, and the 1.8T oil pump pickup.

Feels like it’s really starting to come together!

I bit the bullet and ordered the Luk DMF and Sachs SRE clutch from Darkside along with some bushings to refresh the rear suspension, and a new glow plug harness. I have the Allroad on the hoist and will be removing the 2.7T once I get the internal BHW work completed which includes: BSM delete, cam/lifters, and timing belt. After that, I can get the drivetrain all bolted together and mounted into the car which will be a very exciting day!

I recently dragged spare allroad #2 home and collected a 4 wheeled spare GVE transmission and took a moment to take a family picture albeit missing this wagon.


Anyone want to buy a 2.7T or 2 or 3?!

Got the BHW cracked open tonight. I’m about halfway done the crank yank tool so I can get into the BSM.
Looks like a bit of wear on the bottom bearing shells. Not sure how typical this is at ~130k miles.
New cam, lifters, bushing shells etc are all going in.

Looks more than decent in there! Clean enough for sure. The wear pattern on lower cam bearings is typical for sure. Lifters look original and not bad for the distance. Worn out stuff being changed at the right time... No long term harm done.
