Wanting to get a VW Golf TDI, 10 or 11 if VW will ramp up production, but may get Jetta instead.

How comfortable are the current Jetta seats for long trips? I kind of prefer the GTI/Golf seats, but need input.

THANKS!

They are firm and supportive. If they fit you, they are pretty comfortable. Where the "supportive" becomes important is that they are still pretty comfortable after sitting in them for 6+ hours. They are not soft "easy chairs". They are (IMHO) better than most car seats, but not the best. This is not a Mercedes or Volvo (they used to have really good seats - don't know about current).

Have Fun!

It definitely depends on your size. My wife and I both enjoy the seats, and can take road trips without having to stop for stretch relief. Our 13 hour trip to Florida in March was only stopped for fill-ups/food/restroom stops. I drove the whole way down....and back and was super comfortable the entire way. Driving position is great with the telescoping steering wheel, and a place to rest both arms within easy reach of the wheel.

By far the most comfortable car I have owned so far!

I'm 6'3" and I find them very comfortable. Good German seats. Firm, but ergonomic in design. They are definitely not Lazy Boy seats or sofa cushions, if that's what you like. My only gripe -- I find the car hard to exit, for some reason. There's a handle above the door that I have to grab to pull myself up and out (maybe that's why it's there). Love the car. A real pleasure to drive, both around town and on long trips.
