Thanks for the reply.
I have been hearing great things about the TDI, mainly regarding MPG, and have been thinking about getting one for the last year or so.
I currently have a 1999 BMW M3, and it's a rock. Never needs anything but fluids.
It is however, a pig on gas, and is terrible as a daily driver as a result. This is precisely why I wanted to get the Jetta, but I also wanted to get a car that I could keep for at least 5 years, and wouldn't have to do a ton of maintenance on (like my BMW).
Having to install a new clutch, on a practically new car, just seems like an impending nightmare.
I'm hoping I can find some answers here that will change my thoughts, as I really did have my head set on the car, and even have a good friend looking at a couple in the US for me (and planned to make a purchase in the next week or two).
Can anyone help. Thank you all again
