We've had a lot of rain in these parts, 4 inches in January to date! The roads are awash, which affects mpg's as gdr has to wade through it.

Here's the trip back from Pacific Palisades to Phoenix, as well as some shopping and other fun driving, along with 1.5 days of my usual 26-mile commute (filled up at lunch as usual). Mostly freeway, probably 10-15% city. The freeway driving was 65mph thru half of Cali, 70 the other half, 75 through the western half of AZ, and 55-65 for my commute.

MPG: 53.78

250 Miles @ 75 MPH, 250 Miles @ 65 MPH
70 miles back and forth to work for 2 days
70 miles @ 60-100 MPH, lots of speeding up/slowing down
Remaining Miles Misc Short Trips ~10 Miles, cold starts, city driving, etc

Not bad for driving 10 over everywhere and not trying to get good mileage

All speeds indicated (~3% higher than actual), no Odometer Correction (~1% lower than actual)

Over the past 15 fillups and 10,479 Miles since new, I am averaging 47.6 MPG, not too shabby for a car so young in its life. I give it the Italian tuneup many times too per tank, (followed the DrivebyWire guide of course) Rest of the time I drive normal and abide by the laws around me.

I have Noticed a mileage dip with the snow tires on and Colder weather fuel of course. Best mileage so far to Date is 57 MPG on a road trip, Drove from Oakville, Ontario to Edmundston, New Brunswick on 1 tank and still had about 2 Gallons in the tank, but I needed food :).

This is a summation of my trip down south (PA-NY-SC-GA-SC-PA) during the week of New Years.
My first tank yielded 703.2 miles on 14.34 gallons. (first time over 700!). The rest of my fill-ups were based on price/convenience on fuel stations, so I was filling with at least 1/4 tank of fuel left over.

A few things contributed to what for me is a low reading:
Snow tires.
Taller tires by 14% (205-60, not 215-50). The miles posted are odometer numbers and are not "corrected" to reflect this error.
Venting more thoroughly (20+ gallons on top of 4 remaining in "18.5 gallon" tank,
and most annoyingly, leaks from two injectors when I failed to properly secure the piping nuts after swapping the .205 set back in. Oh, it was fine and dry until about 20 miles down the road. I smelled fuel and saw geysers like Old Faithful spraying out. I had no means of tightening the nuts except by hand which slowed the spurting for only a few minutes.
It's early in the month. I'll probably have another entry to average things out a bit.
