Hello! So i wanted to ask this question for a long time but never had the time to post this. My daily is a 1997 Golf Mk3 Estate with a 1.9TDI AFN (110hp) engine and its now been a year since i owned it. In this time i have done 10.000km with it. Ever since i got it i noticed a noise coming from the turbo when letting off throttle. On the engine i replaced everything that should be replaced and also cleaned the VNT system in the turbo that has no play what so ever. Car runs good, pulls good and doesnt smoke cold or warm. The sound is very loud from the outside and also from the inside if im driving in an alley or a tunnel. It does sound cool tho.
Anyway the sound occurs when i let off the throttle and it makes a long "zuuuuuuuuu" sound. In between you can hear the classic "choo" from the vanes but its not as loud. Car is stock and as i said runs great and gets up to 50MPG on the highway. Is this sound normal as i havent heard it anywhere on the internet.
Here is a link to the video of my car: https://youtube.com/shorts/Kr7Tw4fx4Y8?feature=share
Thanks in advance!

I'm not familiar with the "Mk3"'s, and not sure what that particular sound is coming from, but that car sounds good, and happy to me.
As long as you're sure the turbo is getting all the oil flow it needs, I would "drive more, worry less"! I think if there was a real problem, you'd know.
