If someone asks, "what is dtc xxxxx", is there a way to use a registered version of vag-com to look it up? I'm imagining "no: to protect the research that's been done. Still, too bad.

Well if you have the paper Bentley you can look up the DTC in the ST section of the manual at the end of the manual. It is a complete list of all DTC's.
A paper Bentley manual and/or the Factory Service CD are essential companions to every VAG-Com setup.

LOL! If you think that's a complete list of DTCs I've got some land in Florida for you. Do me a favor, count the number of DTCs listed in that manual. Older versions of VAG-COM had over 3900. The new version has over 7000.
