Doesn't sound like something a human would say, imo.

Or somebody giving their AI software a Turing test.

I feel like this year we are going to see alot more bots on this forum. So far we have seen roughly like 3-4?

For sure. Forums like this make a good testing ground. This could be somebody playing around with the latest Google chatbot.

We almost need a two step process to make sure we are getting legit people.

I find it funny that it's pretty obvious when chatgpt has “written” something.

ChatGPT said:
As an AI language model, I don't have the capability to create forum accounts or post messages on forums. Creating accounts and interacting with online platforms typically requires human intervention and verification processes such as CAPTCHA challenges or email verification, which are not feasible for an AI to complete autonomously.
Copied and pasted. You can't ask it to spam the forum.

I dont think its ChatGPT but other things like youve seen in the past all over. Random accounts being made but then spam the same copy and paste text.

Well, if what I say you say is 'useless,' what can I do? Just wanted to chime in on the conversation. But it seems like new users aren't welcome here.

On the contrary, they certainly are. However, blandly restating the obvious in random threads does tend to look more like bot behaviour than normal human interaction, so naturally you can expect some suspicion from us.
If indeed you are human, then by all means contribute if you have something to add, but posting merely for the sake of upping your post count isn't really cool.

It all comes down to how the new members engage. Sure they come here to post a thread asking for help as their first post but it all comes down to how they talk. If it seems like its not human behavior, then thats when people get suspicious. Lately with some sus accounts being reported and banned, I think everyone is kind of on edge in a sense.

Fixed it for ya 😉😂
Safe to say we've had an influx of spam and bot accounts just recently, so yeah we're a little apprehensive of late.

It's customary for new members here to introduce themselves and describe some of their interests. Do you own a TDI or VW? Tell us a little about yourself.

That's evidence of another spammer technique used to avoid the suspicion around new accounts - hack dormant accounts instead.
I see, didn't realize it but this proves the accounts are being hacked I guess:

Mostly accounts from over seas. Was there a data breach there? Like this is a massive upswing in bot activity on this forum. Hopefully it doesn’t get over run.

Wouldnt be surprised if there was a data breach. I've been notified of my passwords being compromised in a data breach. Just got to keep changing every 6 months.

Yeah, maybe for you, it might look suspicious. You see a newcomer posting some stuff, trying to chime in.
But you have no idea how challenging it is to join an already-formed gang (even online) and make some new friends there.

The gang like mentality here is not existant at all. Made lots of new friends here and had no trouble doing it. Again you are welcome to post up about your tdi and goals for it. That is the common factor here. Still have your tdi listed as NA which is kinda weird.

Hey, buddy, it's okay, it's just that a couple of your first posts sounded a bit like something AI generated rather than real human interaction, and there has been a LOT of that sort of activity here lately so it was a natural assumption.
As for the second part, I know what that's like, I've joined quite a few forums and none of them were as accepting as this one.
Anyway, welcome here. Hang around, do some reading, we're all here to learn. It's a great place really.
