I just recently replaced the window regulator on the passenger side door and reassembled almost everything just as it was - except for the little lock... indicator... tube thingie. The thing that sticks out of the door to show whether it's locked or unlocked. It fell out and I couldn't find where the end goes back in. The remote locks still work, the exterior door handle still works, and pulling on the cable (or handle when it's connected to the handle) makes a sound, but doesn't actuate the latch at all. Do I need to put the lock indicator thing back in? I tried looking for a place to clip it back in but couldn't find anything..

I also have an issue with one side of the window going down first, and the window struggling to go back up, so maybe I got a bad regulator off the junkyard car I pulled it from... or did I just install it wrong..? At least the window stays up now..

It sounds like the cable to the interior latch handle has become detached from the door latch mechanism. Probably at the same time the lock indicator rod got loose.

I know of no way to fix this without disassembly of the door again. You will need a couple of XZN bits for the bolts at the latch and a tiny one for a small bolt inside for the exterior door handle.

You will need a couple of pages of the manual to be able to see how it goes together as well as coming apart. I may be able to provide scans of those pages, but it will be late this afternoon if at all, so if anyone else has them, it would be faster.

Good luck,

PH

Damn.. I guess I'll tear it all apart again. And just to be clear, I did make sure to hook the cable back onto the interior handle, we're referring to something inside of the latch mechanism itself, right?
