I've been trying to find a good real-world photo of the two light interior color, especially the
moonrock grey, as I haven't seen that in the flesh since looking into locked parked cars in the factory parking lot.

In the old marketing pictures on this overview page http://www.myturbodiesel.com/1000q/b7/2012-vw-passat-tdi-forum-buying-guide.htm, the interior color shown appears to match the near-white pillar/ceiling trim.

Is that the monrock grey, and does it really match the standard pillars/ceiling color - or is the pillar/ceiling color changed to match when the chosen color is moonrock?

Or do those pictures just show a whiteish interior that's not available here?

(We're looking at getting a TDi SE in reflex silver or glacier blue.
Unless it's just too hard to find, we'd rather have the lighter interior color option for comfort reasons, and thus beige vs. grey interior may actually matter more than the exterior color.)

Just looking at the pics you linked to, I don't think that is Moonrock Grey, maybe Cornsilk? I have Moonrock and it is a tad darker/more grey than the pics appear....Moonrock is still a very light color.

Yep, the car in the photos has cornsilk beige interior...I know it very well! I chose white with cornsilk due to the heat of our summers....

With moonrock, then, are upper pillars and ceiling moonrock grey as well, or are the same lighter white/off-white/light-grey as with titan black?

I take it, then, that with cornsilk you get cornsilk pillars and ceiling as well?

Regarding the heat, I still can't get over them spending all this time here in the South building this factory and then still forcing pleather or leather with a TDI (and every 2.5 I see here is an SE as well), the cheapness of this particular cloth notwithstanding. Having apparently carved this trim matrix in stone, it is further mindboggling how many dealer stock cars (not to mention the early demos...) are then configured with black. And these are German, which, let me tell you, melt a lot quicker in this weather than the natives.

Yes, cornsilk on the pillars and ceiling. Regarding the heat, Germans and pleather, I imagine they'll figure it out this summer and then have different options for interiors in 2014 or 2015 (since supplier contracts take so long to develop).

We live about 7 miles from the Mercedes plant and it's amazing what the Germans have learned...like you need a drivers license and/or a passport in your possession when driving on our roads!
