Injectors not closing code

2001 Jetta Tdi sat for a few months before i took it in for brakes..
On way out of mechanics lot...check engine light came on, mechanic said injectors not closing code.. He thought it could have been from sitting so long and dead battery. Not a big issue and car can be driven.

I noticed pulling a hill? It doesnt have power it used to... Is there a diy fix to this? im rookie with only basic tools...

Let fuel tank get to 1/4 added 16 oz sea foam, let it run..shut off, check engine light didnt come bsck on...
