If anyone wants to borrow a VCDS cable for the latest TDI's or the old VAG COM OBD11 cable shoot me a PM
Check out the DMF that Dieselgeek.com sells for your DSG. they seem to be better than the originals and are revsions to the oe parts iirc.I have a DSG
Well, no problems starting lately... (knock on wood)Is anyone available on the N side tomorrow evening to hook up a vag-com and help diagnose my check engine light? Also had trouble getting it started this morning, yes it was in the 50* garage, not sitting outside... We'll see how it behaves tonight when i leave work.
I'm pretty sure it's engine oil, i could be wrong and it's gear lube. It sure doesn't smell like the gear lube i'm used to though...Might be gear oil running down the drive shaft. Check the length of the shaft up to the final drive. It may also be the rubber boot that's split and the grease has run out. I'm more inclined to an oil leak though.
I'll check the garage floor in the morning...soak some into a white paper towel. if its black, its engine oil. if it's brownish it's gear oil.
my guess is gear oil.
I agree, but it seems to be a decent price and possibly less than a 2.5"and yes, 3" exhaust is way overkill until you get turbo, chip, injectors, intake, etc. but it would sound cool....
If it was done at Wood, I will not be able to check for you. I can only check records from my shop, with the exception of warranty or recall issues which vw keeps on file. Easiest would be just to call them, theyYeah Frank sold his before I could get to it. I posted the TDI forums under the classifieds hoping something might turn up.
But I guess that will be secondary as I need to take of the front wheel bearing and do a TB change. Hey Neil can you pull up the service record for my Bee? The previous owner said he had just taken it in to Tom Wood for a TB change before trading it in. Hoping I got lucky and they put on the 100k kit/belt. If you can in on of my previous PM's to you I gave you the VIN.
Thanks
Jerry
