Wow, what a great bunch of TDI folks we met Saturday. I'd been a casual observer at past events (non tdi owner) didn't totally relate to the passion/devotion/obsession of mpg and diesel performance. But it not just mpg/performance why TDI folks traveled long distances to attend this event. For the most part it was to share their love/experiences with their TDI's and catch up on whatever.
Not sure what the best part of the day was but I'll pick, cars in the air. What a great way to advance ones ability having TDI'ers around assisting with the best way to do X. Something as simple as jack points, brake flushes, compression testing, timing issues to diagnosing certain noises.
Perhaps a goal for next year might include a few levels of experience for trouble shooting and repair or using VCDS/VagCom. We'll need some input and volunteers/experts its never to early to formulate ideas and work toward the next gtg. I would also like to hear from local folks about gtg/diy sessions. A goal here is to increase knowledge/skill level through diy sessions.
Thanks to all the vendors that attended, thanks to the TDI'ers who contributed food (especially the thin mints) and drink. A special thanks to Paul for his time spent helping to organize. I did want to thank you in person but like the horses you took off pretty fast.
In closing we still have several limited/collector edition 2014 TDI Fest t-shirts in various sizes give us a shout to claim yours.
