Well, while you were hanging out listening to Tomo wax poetic on the virtues of his passat so that some sucker would buy it, I was getting all dolled up for the wedding from hell.

Anyone getting married on Impexfest next year, will have to exclude me from the guest list!

Sorry I missed it.

Whoa! Who's car is he peeing on?! Maybe he's marking it so everyone knows it belongs to him. :D

Seriously, though, many thanks to DCTDIWagon, FanOfAllDiesels, Car54, and Mark (I forgot your screenname) for all your great help! Also thanks to MOGolf for introducing me to the MightyVac - that sure was a hell of lot easier (and more elegant) than pouring PowerService straight into the fuel filter to prime it.

Thanks again to IMPEX for hosting and Tongsli for organizing!

We just arrived home safely about an hour ago. We have so many people to thank...

First to Fanofalldiesels (Jeff) and his lovely wife, Becky, for putting us up for the weekend. Their two daughters made us a great big welcome sign and even drew a map to the restroom! It gave us a smile and a warm feeling after a long drive.

Troy and Lissa, thanks for one of the most memorable dinners we've had in a very long time! Can't wait to see you again!

John and the rest of the Impex crew--thanks for hosting this and providing the excellent service day in and day out.

Lito--thanks for being the point man on this. It all appeared to go very smoothly, and that only happens when an event is properly planned. Cheers to you, mate.

Childishidealism, Jerry King, and Paramedick for the assistance with the ABS pump swap. Works like a charm!

QQQ--hey, I had some of that jerky! It was real good! Bring some more up for TDIFest!

Thanks to the folks from Nexxt Energy for the free B100. A few gallons allowed us to stretch our temporarily tight budget a little further.

TDIinRI, PeterV, HamsterV, DeeBee, & the Chills--thanks for representing the New England crew! It's always good to see you guys, and always entertaining... :)

Special thanks to Paramedick for spilling my coffee into my OLD ABS pump, and not the NEW ABS pump. :D

The car ran flawlessly towing our little camper at 70-75 mph the whole way. We averaged 37.5 mpg. Not bad for hitting 2 traffic jams each way.

We did forget our big coffee maker though. If Jeff or Lito are coming to TDIFest, we can get it then.

Walked in the door a few minutes ago.

Lito and John, thanks for a great time. Always a pleasure to see you and the east coast gang.

To all that let me play with your cars, thanks. If anyone is still mad because I MADE you work on your cars, sorry. I do bet you learned something about your TDIs, though.

Mark, again many thanks for your help on the Passat. I only leaked two quarts on the way home, so we made progress! :p Tom, thanks for adjusting my shifter. Mikey, you saved my tush when you extracted the broken bolt on the turbo oil line. I stopped and bought a quality 3/8" torque wrench on the way home to prevent a reoccurrence.

I told you I was trying to ensure it functioned at peak efficiency!! ;) Again, Sorry.

Fair warning. Next year, I'm going to keep my hands clean and socialize!! :) :D

Looking forward to next year!

As always, something breaks at a GTG.

Somehow I returned home with a cleaner drain pan than I took. Thanks Bruce. ;)

Well, my TDI made it home without spewing diesel everywhere. It was great to see everyone again, even though I managed to get a sunburn on the top of my calves, but nowhere else on my legs.

Also, thanks to everyone that played a part helping install the new injectors in my Jetta. It takes a village to raise a TDI's horsepower or something like that...yah.

I just got in about 15 min ago...... The Chills are now on their way. We had an eventful trip home including stopping for breakfast at a Waffle House, stopping to see Mission Impossible 3 in NY, and dinner with Chris's uncle at Mohegan Sun in CT!

Impex Folks--thanks for opening up your space to us and hosting yet another fun event!

Lito--thanks for once again for being the organiser extraordinaire and a special thanks for helping me with the flash to pass mod. It was fun on the way home!

It was great to see friends, both old and new...............

And yes (for those that are curious)....Mrs Chill and I DID go out Saturday night (though we were too tired to do a whole lot of dancing, but it was still fun)

Thanks goes out to Lito who once again orginized a GREAT gtg. (I believe he said the count was 88 cars) John and all of the crew from Impex for providing ample space, great pricing, and extrodinary patience and flexability for those of us doing all of the work on our cars (some into the evening ) :(. Kudos and many thanks from ALL of the TDI community to Peter, Jeff, Bruce, Oliver, Glen, and Keith (I know I am missing others so don't shoot me, Tomo, PeterV, Chris, and others who...though not actively wrenching were available as walking TDI knowledge bases for those who had questions) for doing what they love to do....help people get the most out of their cars and spread thier knowledge and experience to anyone who is willing to ask, listen, and help. Without the wealth of knowledge that they, and the rest of the community, willingly share, I am sure I would have never bought a TDI in the 1st place....and now I own 2 .

Justin..we all missed you, Dan, and Pete....it wasn't the same without your red beast ;)

Hope everyone has/had a safe trip home and is recovering from a long day of work, fun, and sunburns
(you would think that I would learn by now)
and..I hope everyone has made thier plans and hotel reservations for May 5th 2007...ImpexFest6...Cinco de Mayo meets Seis de Impex!

Just a quick thank you to Mikeyworks, Bruce B., Mark, Peter, PeterV, Tomo, Brian B., Ollie, Jeff R. and all the others (who I probably didn't meet) lending a hand with wrenches, knowledge and expertise.

Like someone said earlier, all you could see at one point were hoods open and people peering underneath them!

Thanks for the help

I went into Impexfest with a list of things to accomplish, and I have to say that through the help of everyone there I was able to accomplish most of the goals for this year in a single weekend. I really enjoyed meeting everyone and I will certainly have to plan for joining more GTG's in the future. Everyone was great and seemed to really enjoy the day.

Special thanks must go out to Lito for putting this thing together. Glen (MOgolf) for his wrenching while doing my timing belt - really impressive, and Oliver and Jeff for the nozzles and RC2 that got me home. Other than almost getting sideswiped on the way home and a small compression leak that started 1/2 way home it was a very succesful trip. Oliver even put up w/ me calling him to make sure I didn't mess anything up while fixing the compression leak back in Jersey.

The car performs well and I look forward to many more years of enjoyment - and probably more upgrades in the future. As I feared... I'm turning into a Diesel performance junkie slowly but surely. :D

Tan - yeah, there were a couple pics of me in there but unfortunately, I look pretty silly in most of them... and yes, I did finally get around to replacing that bulb.

Next year - More hanging out and BS'ing while getting to know everyone, less work :D

Lito,
I have to tell you what a blast I had. Thanks to you for organizing such a great event and thanks to John and the Impex crew for opening up the shop and making the lift available. It was really fun turning wrenches on so many cars!

Bruce,
Glad we slowed the hemorrhaging slightly. Two quarts wasn't too bad I guess. Thanks for letting me help. I guess your car liked me since it piddled Rotella in my hair for a couple of hours.

Glen,
Thanks for being my navigator for the weekend and letting me tag along. The drive on I-68 Friday was especially enjoyable.

What a great time.
I'm truly looking forward to next year!

I also had a great time. I got the brakes bled and enough maintenance stuff to take care of the car for the next 2 years for a great price. Last year's ImpexFest was my first TDI club event and I knew so little and felt very nervous about going to the event. This year I felt right at home and although am by no means an expert, I feel really good that I was able to lend a couple hands, a few tools, and some small bits of knowledge here and there to help people along. I learned plenty from the others too. I would highly suggest to any newbie to make Impex their first event.

I would also like to thank Ms. Meganuke for shoving a hampsterbrownie in my mouth. They were delicious.

Also thanks to the person who let me borrow their pella hose. How did I forget that?

Thanks Dan for the antenna, Lito for everything, Impex for everything else, and everyone for coming.

Sorry I missed the dinner and couldn't help clean up. As a Louisville native, I had to get home to watch the Kentucky Derby.
