Long story short...
In 2002 converted 2001 Golf TDI stock cluster to Euro cluster - added the stalk etc...
Two weeks ago I buy a 2002 Jetta TDI and have severe brain fart :confused::confused::confused: by just pulling the cluster from the 2001 Golf and sticking it into the 2002 Jetta and took the 2002 cluster and plugged it into the 2001 Golf. Holy scheisse - both car immdiately activated the immobilizers!!! Swap clusters back as was - Disconnect battery on both cars and got Jetta to drop immobilizer (Airbag light is now on but it does not pose a problem) - the Golf still trows the immo.:mad::mad: Disconnected battery on Golf for extended time, touch pos/neg for 10 seconds without success. Help........:(:(:(

Sorry for the obvious, but you did do the swap using VAGCOM? If not, then you have lost you soft coding. Can you give more details?

Yes - Used the VAGCOM at that time but do not recall to many details except it took about 3 hours to run all the wiring - the reprograming only took a few minutes but can not remember the individual who did it for me....
