I'm replacing my timing belt on my 2.0 TDI 2012 Passat.
I put the timing pins in , and crank holder on and replaced the belt.
My question is if the crankshaft is 180 off will I be able to manually turn the engine over two times without interference.
I bought the car with a broken timing belt and wanted to see if the valves hit before tearing off the head.
I installed a used(good) timing belt and figured if I have interference when manually turning over twice...I have a bent valve.
But I don't know if I would have interference if crank or cam was 180 off?
Can someone help me understand.
I turned and it hits now, but can this be because out of time 180?
Thanks!
