How do you remove the hose clamp at the intercooler itself? I did remove the worm drive clamp and pulled a small piece of ice out, but would like to remove the entire hose.
I have not done this myself and do not know if there is a "trick" to help accomplish this, so please post any hints you discover.
When my Golf was towed to VW due to intercooler icing, the technician easily removed the hoses from the intercooler side. He first manipulated a clip around the outside of the hose's metal adapter fitting then twisted the hose a bit to break it's seal and the hose popped right off the intercooler. When he pushed the hose back on you could hear an audible click when it seated completely and was locked on.
Hopefully this post by "6DOF" which shows a picture of the clip on the intercooler side of the hoses will help:
A small common screwdriver will work just fine to release the clamp locking tab. Just gently pry it up and it will slide out of the docking sleeve. The larger picture shows it a bit better:
