Sure is sweet, but it's not the most powerful production diesel, the 550xd is and it does 0-100 in 4.7s

The facelifted A8 trumps the 381PS of the 550d with 385PS (and 850Nm compared to 740Nm in the BMW), while getting equal 0-100km/h times.

In reality, 0-60 times are utter BS with such cars.

Something like 100-200km/h is better to compare because it rules out any safeguards there might be with the electronics.

With AWD and 850Nm from 2000rpm it is not healthy at all for you drivetrain.

2002 TDI (ALH) with 513,000 km. First Owner and very happy... No Problems, never left us stranded on the Highway. Average useage is about between under 4 ltr. and 5 ltr. Normal longdistance travel: 4.1/100
In Germany on the Autobahn a car like that is ok, but here with speeds around 100 - 130 km/h forget it. My TDI is just fine.

now, that is TOO sensible! guy I used to work with just retired and bought an Audi R8 with over 450 HP. I think to myself, that is sure nice to LOOK AT, but where are you going to drive it? How many Jetta wagens (or Golf wagens :D) could you buy for 150K? oh yeah 12K extra for the fancy transmission...
look at all the nice cars but would you really buy one?

I really want to see the R8 or an RS4 Avant (if it's even physically possible) with Audi's 6L V12 TDI

Audi did this already, a one-off for the Miami Auto Show, insured it for $3Million. it was red. I wanted it, but not badly enough according to Audi...:D
