We moved to Nova Scotia. The Treg only gave my one CEL. I was towing an over filled 12ft single axle trailer too. Fun is not the word I would use.

Old timers thread... :)

I've stupidly or smartly stuck with VW. Still have my passat wagon - now at 625,000km, kid has a 2008 rabbit with the boat-anchor 2.5 5cyl, wife drives the Q5 (gas 3.2), and fixing up a EA888 tiguan with a busted chain for the daughter. Never ends with VWs.

The most reliable one of the bunch has been the BHW passat - nothing major ever happens to it. (knocks on wood)

We are still rocking a fleet of MK4s, recently added one more purchased from another veteran local member. My daughter is the odd one out, drives a Civic mostly because she and a third pedal don't get along.

Can't beat cheap and reliable :)

I have the EA888 tools if you need them...Sigh. BTDT. Also have the adapter to pull the balance shafts.

Thanks - I managed to get both the balance shafts out from the front without the puller or yanking the transmission to beat them out from the back side.

Have the tools as well, Amazon makes things crazy easy these days
