Any data on the actual failure rate of HPFP on NMS Passat? By year of manufacture? I believe I saw somewhere 1%, but can't recall the source. Of those failures, how many do you think were caused by bad fuel or gas instead of diesel? Trying to think through buyback vs fix, and odds of a failure before fix is ready.

Oh, I think it's safe to say that it's ≤1%, or there would have been more in the way of extended warranties, demands for an investigation, etc. What I always remind myself when reading about things breaking in these forums is that the Internet draws bad news like a dead deer in the median of I-57 draws flies......
Personally, not going to worry about it, as long as nothing drastic happens, we're driving our Passat until the end of the buyback period in 2018.

At one point I thought I had read of a few people in the NMS Passat having HPFP failures, but it seems that this model is generally not impacted. I would put the percentage at less than 1%.

130,000 miles. Dunno the rate but that was my story. Got it repaired and still driving.
