• The TDIClub classifieds section is a heavily trafficked section of the forum that encompasses want-to-buy (WTB) and for-sale (FS) threads for the entire world. Due to the demanding nature and fast pace of this section, it is imperative that you know and understand the rules. It is also important to remember that this is the only parts classifieds section.

Cross-posting and posting classifieds in the regional sections (except the dedicated thread in Ontario) is not permitted.

Multiple items should be sold in one thread. Make sure to provide a description for all items in your post along with pictures and prices. If you start multiple threads with individual items, they will be locked or combined at the discretion of the moderators.

Here is a quick outline of the classifieds section rules. If you don't follow these rules, you subject yourself to thread deletion, thread combination, infractions, or posting privilege revocation.

    Thread titles:
    • Put FS or WTB in your thread title. This will let other users know if you are selling or buying.
    • Briefly describe what you are selling. Thread titles have limited space. Be as descriptive, yet succinct, as possible.
    • Put your location in the title.
    • If space allows, put your price in the title

Title example (single item): "FS: 2004 Mk4/BEW cylinder head - Portland, OR - $500"
Title example (multiple items): "FS: MK6 fog lights, front bumper, headlights, grill - Detroit, MI"
Title example (car part-out): "FS: Mk3 Jetta parting out engine & interior - Dallas, TX"

    Thread text descriptions and pictures:
    • All for-sale threads must include pictures of the items that you are selling. One picture is sufficient, but multiple pictures with different angles will help buyers. A picture is worth a thousand words. If you don't know how to post pictures on TDIClub, see this thread: http://forums.tdiclub.com/showthread.php?t=286691
    • All for-sale threads must include a description. We don't charge per-word, so be as descriptive as possible. The more information you can provide, the easier it will be for buyers.
    • All for-sale threads must include a price. Auctions and bidding are not allowed. If you want to auction something off, use eBay.
No picture, no price, NO SALE!

    Thread maintenance/updates/bumps:
    • When you sell something, update your thread with "SOLD!" Moderators will close the thread and update the title.
    • If you have multiple items for sale, update your thread as each item has been sold. When everything has been sold, updated the thread with "ALL ITEMS SOLD!" Moderators will close the thread and update the title when all items have been sold.
    • If you bump your thread, please delete old bumps by clicking on EDIT and then deleting the old bump. This will reduce clutter in your thread and make it easier to read. It also makes you look less desperate.
    • If you drop your price, please update your first post in addition to posting the new price. If you would like the thread title changed, click on the report post icon and let a moderator know what you would like the title changed to.

    Moderator intervention and infraction points:
Moderators will be monitoring the classifieds section. If a moderator determines that you have not been following the rules listed above, corrections will be made and infraction points will be assessed to your account.

What is an infraction point? Simple - it's a system of keeping track of user behavior. A moderator can assign a point value based on the severity of the infraction, as well as an expiration date on the points assessed. If you accumulate a certain number of points, the system will auto-ban you for a predefined amount of time. The more points you accumulate, the longer your ban period will be.

One example of points is as follows: multiple threads will be combined into a single thread, with the number of infraction points assessed corresponding to the number of threads merged. If we merge four threads into one, then you will be assessed four points that expire in 30 days. When you reach five points, the system will auto-ban you for one day.*

*This is an example based on the current infraction system structure. We reserve the right to modify the infraction system at any time without notice or updates to this announcement.

Thank you for your cooperation, and good luck with your sales and searches! :)

How\'s \'bout a GTG at Michigan Internatinal Speedway???

It has also come to my attention that not only does Wifey want me to sell the Jetta GL TDI for a Golf, Auto-TDI, but rumor has it that I work at MIS and have pulled some strings to get a group of fellow TDI'ers onto our track for a few laps of "let's keep it below 70mph in the turns, Boys!".

Our Director of track operations said he could let a group of about 30-50 cars on the track but not all at once.

What's even more cooler, is that I can get up to about 30 people into one of our turn 1 suites for $45/person. This would include: tix to the July CART Open-wheel race (250 mph in the backstretch), catered food, and air conditioning. If anybody's interested, please email me at work at MIS: mikebradford@mispeedway.com

I promise you'd have a great time. If anybody's interested, we'd love to have the publicity!!! (I'm not a salesman, I'm just an accountant...so no salesman bashing, please!)
Later.

Man that sounds like fun and some great pic's! When (date) are you talking about? Man it would be nice if you could come to the MI GTG so we could all talk to you about it!

How about it you guy’s this sounds like a real good time!

This might even be a reason to burn another sick day for The Ripster.

Re: How\'s \'bout a GTG at Michigan Internatinal Speedway???

I guess sometime either this early or late spring, or even during the summer between our 3 weekend race events in June, July, & August. It might be a good thing to have after our August event in the early fall season. I guess I'm just going to take all the suggestions that come this way and work something out with our Hospitality Dept.

I really think the opportunity to meet people at the July CART Race for $45 per pop with food and tix is cool not only for me but for our publicity as well. But like I said, I'm no salesman...

now if you said NASCAR instead of CART (personally I likethe "stock" cars better than the open wheels)

but heck any day of auto racing would be cool - my wife might be even into that - $45 isn't too bad

now gettin on the track hmmm I think the ripster might be burnin more than his sick days! Esp with all that MSP training

Well, that might be able to be bended a little, but we try to avoid anybody and especially 30 cars or so traveling at 115mph unless they are fully equipped race units for obvious reasons. It's possible they would let a few on the track with a half mile or so distance between them in order to alleviate any sweating by our insurance companies... I'll check with our legal department.

I wonder if The Ripster would be up to chasing us around the track a few times. Only problem is his car is chipped and he wouldn’t be doing the chasing for long!

If "somebody" is from the MSP, I bet I have a lot of buddies that know him.

I have recently just finished my Master's in Information Security (InfoSec) for those that didn't already know. I also developed the curriculum for EMU's Cybercrime School which will be training a lot of local and state/federal law enforcement personnel.

It's just amazing who you can meet on this site and where they are from. I should ask Mr. Ripster if my Jetta low-beams/drl's are too bright since it was an MSP'er who gave me a ticket for my drl's being too bright... $70!!! Mannn!!!

Re: How\'s \'bout a GTG at Michigan Internatinal Speedway???

hell one at a time would be fine with me - or maybe two - one at each end like in Qualifying!

Let everyone on for warm up laps (qualifying practice) then flag everyone into the pits, and send em out, one lap warm up then one full speed then back into the pits. Running tandem should work well for these things, cars will be in general at opposite ends

Sounds great, will have to know in advance though so I can take some annual time to get there. Just as long as they keep the deer away. As far as the drl's being bright, I am in the twilight of my career, so even if I wasn't that section I don't believe I have ever looked up even, if it exists. Kinda like danglin ornaments, blue lights on the side of semi's, moving lights, all the small stuff... never used my me, and most of my compadre's.

Re: How\'s \'bout a GTG at Michigan Internatinal Speedway???

Ok, so here's the deal:

Our track gets $6500 for track rental. We have a driving school here called Track Time. People are able to drive on their track during TT's lunch hour which may last up to 1-1/2 hours.

Our Track director said he wouldn't charge us a dime if we could all fit on the track during their lunch hour. Which in my opinion isn't a bad deal since maybe only 15-20 TDI's may show up. If there's more than that, then we'll just have to be on the track for a shorter period each. So whoever is interested barring any variables (rain, hail, snow, death, etc.)please email me at MIS.

Whoever wants to show up for the July race & the Friends & Family suite deal of $45/person, please send me notification at the speedway and I will personally collect your money, send you the tickets and print you out directions to a nice meeting place. Being able to do the track driving during the July race week would be nearly impossible since we have cars on the track humming along at 230-250+ almost daily. I wish we could make both deals available at the same time, but I apologize for not being able to do so. (They pay us over $10G/day for testing, so we don't want to get in their way, plus if Roger Penske were to see a bunch of VeeDubs putting along, he make me pay for the lost revenue. Bummer!)
