It has been a while since anyone has posted in this thread, so I though I would add my observations. I cannot speak much about daytime speeds because at work, everything is slow going through the corporate firewall. At home (evenings and weekends, DSL connection), I do occasionally get long delays in pages loading. In the last month or so, I have been paying attention. In every case when I had to wait more then 10 seconds for a page to load, my browser always says either contacting or waiting for pic3s.tdiclub.com. It is ALWAYS that pic3 server that appears to be bogged down. I have no idea if it is over-loaded or under powered, or some other issue, but at least it is consistent.
Long time follower but seldom, if ever, joined in the fray. This must be one of the best enthusiast sites on the net for cars in general and VW TDI's in particular. Happy to be a part of the group. Over the years my VW Diesels have included a Rabbit sedan, Rabbit pickup, Golf sedan to my currently owned '96 Passat wagon TDI, '14 JSW wagon TDI and '14 Passat sedan TDI.
I know 'em and love 'em, warts and all.
I've been getting a multi-second delay between the initial request and page load when loading most pages on the forums over the past few days, fwiw. Honestly, we have a new router and its freshly configured so I'm not sure if its firewall or config is causing a hickup with the packets, but everything looks on the up and up.
