What is needed to add a rain sensor to a 2010 Jetta?

I really want to have sunroof close automatic when raining?
Someone must have looked into this?

The good news is, it can probably be done. The bad news is you need a new windshield.

I saw someone who did it without replacing the windshield; they just mounted the new mirror below the old mirror mount. The mirror placement was off and it looked pretty hacky in the pictures.

This only works on the Jettas. The mk6 Golf/GTI's and the JSW's haven't shown up in the US with a rain/light sensor so there isn't a replacement windshield to source.

At least I now have an idea where the sensor would go.. The article looks to be from an older vehicle. I am going to have to spend the $$ at some point and buy some factory manuals for this vehicle. I am sure that would help get some answers..

Thank you for the post...
