They're really arriving! I can report that a dealer in the Pacific Northwest is expecting one later this week, I will report more details as soon as I've determined whether I'm buying it myself or not. ;)
Yes, it's true.

We are taking delivery of ours tonight. :)

First one in Edmonton... it just arrived to our dealer around noon on Friday.

I noticed the local VW dealer here on Vancouver Island has a black Highline TDI Sportwagen on the lot. $38995 sticker price (!!??)
I gotta pass at that price point.

From the pricing sheet I saw posted earlier in this thread (or another one), "my" car (6MT Comfortline with Lighting package and Convenience package) should be around $34K, tax and PDI incl.
Which is still a bit more than I feel like spending.

Probably going to wait a bit and see if a demo unit comes available.

:eek::eek::eek:

That's luxury car territory.

Sorry, I'll pass too at that point. The base model 1.8 TSI is roughly $22.5k. Have to wait and see how much kit that includes, but based on the Golf hatch, one only needs the $400 cruise control/multi-function steering wheel option to have all the car one really needs. So let's say $23k + PDI + taxes. That would work for me if I felt a burning need to trade our '13 wagon or '11 hatch.

I don't.

As a side note, I'm not keen that VW has gone to the pano sunroof on the hatch as well. First of all I don't like the look of the fully black roof on a light-coloured car. Secondly I'm wary of pano roofs based on some troubles I've read about on the Mk V.5 Golf/Jetta wagons. So that effectively kills the Highline models for me. And on the hatch, the Comfortline has leatherette seats, vs cloth on the Trendline. That pretty much sews it up for me... the Trendline is the one to get. Too bad you can't get HIDs on it though.

I was in Langhorne today for a state inspection. I gave a moment of silence for our friend Chris.

They had just taken delivery of a white on black SEL with the lighting package and DSG. The car was still wrapped, but it sure looked nice. I am not one for cameras and Nav, but I was impressed. The rear suspension is not independent. I did like that the rear valance is setup for a European towbar, no cutting required so far as I can tell.

For some reason I can't figure out how to upload pictures on this site anymore??? Will have to figure it out.
Here's pics from Sunday, picking up tomorrow....!

Silver SEL Sportwagen in. DSG, Fender audio, bi xenon headlights, and almost unbelievable mileage. Did not get a good price, paid full sticker. Was offered 3.59% interest rate but talked them down to 1.99%. Financed through the dealership.

Rides great and fun to drive. Bi xenon lights are great. Low end and mid-range acceleration are as good as my old Camry (V6) but top end is not, I consider this a good trade off for the fuel economy.

Going back to the dealer to get it fully tinted, and taking it in next month to get additional sound deadening applied, (need to find out if doing so voids warranty, I don't believe it should).

Currently has 95 miles.

I got thinking after I left. Should of asked Salesman when they received first 2015 VW , and now just getting Wagon in end of March. I know a lot of chat here about 20015/2016 timeline.

Thought everyone reading the thread would appreciate this paste, from an e-mail I just recieved...this is in regard to the Pacific Northwest:

Thank you very much for your inquiry regarding your interest in a new 2015 VW Golf Wagon :) At this point, we do have some updated information on the arrival of the Golf Sportwagen. VW has officially released two Golf Sportwagens to each dealership in our area. There will be one Gas model and one Diesel model alloted to each business. The vehicles should be put on a truck in the next week for the arrival time being the April 10th.

As far as inventory goes, we expect that the Golf Wagon's will start arriving shortly after the two are released to each dealership. From the information that we have, we can tell that VW is producing them as fast as they can. You can start to order the VW Golf Wagon now if you like.

Would you like to come down and talk about your ordering options, or would you like to schedule your test drive for the 10th of April??
Turned out there was a shipping delay so the wagons I'd been told would be arriving this week won't be until early April (have gotten that from several dealers now, but this one was the most detailed). Does anyone know what's up with the "ordering" she mentions above? I bought our last TDI used from a specialty dealer, not new from VW.

Can one order exactly what they want from the factory or something? How long does that take? I'm going to a dealer tomorrow morning to ask in person.

I had a ordered placed for me in early Jan for a '15 Golf SEL TDI, marked as sold 1/10/2015. Production week was the 10th week of 2015. Delivery was late March/Early April. Just updated delivery now no sooner then April 13.

Delays on the west coast of the US could have to do with the longshoreman strike and the amount of vessels still sitting of coast waiting to unload.

I doubt it.

They're coming from Puebla, MX - even the ones in Canada come by rail up the middle of Mexico and the US.

As long as the railworkers aren't on strike, the logistics chain should be ok.

Trailer hich for new wagon

Has anyone sorted out when would trailer hitches be available for new wagons? I have a 2003 TDI Wagon with a trailer hitch I use to tow small trailer. I am thinking about new wagon to replace my current one, but until there's a hitch available I'll have to wait.

I think the Westfalias and Bosals for the '15 Golf Sportwagen are on the PF Jones site. It might be worth checking in with IDParts if you are interested in a towbar?

Brought this home at lunch time today. On loan from our local dealer.

Pretty nice. I still don't like the DSG, and I'd not want the 18" wheels, but otherwise it's a nice car.

Nice Indigo! That's my color but awaiting the extra pedal. Do you like it over the previous years?

I have a '12 Golf but have only driven a JSW briefly. Compared to my Golf it's pretty close. I think if I had the MKVI JSW I'd be hard pressed to make a case for this one.

The AWD Sportwagen will be introduced as a '17 in late '16. I've been told it's coming with a TDI, but right now I'd bet it isn't, just because of the issues with packaging IRS/AWD with the Adblue tank. Same reason we didn't get the GTD: they couldn't fit Adblue with the rear suspension, even without AWD.

It appears the first wave of Sportwagens is mainly gray, black, & white. Come on Volkswagen, I want to see the Night Blue Metallic (may wait for that one instead of settling for gray, if I can stand the wait!)! And it seems that in total, only a few are trickling into dealers. When will we see more?

Just read somewhere that the alltrak won't be available in tdi. Makes sense since the golf and wagons don't come with independent rear suspension in order to make room for the adblue tank.

RIP 16 GSW... Just the LR diesel now
I can't believe the price delta between the outgoing 2014 and the 2015.
Even before discounts the price has gone up around $2,000
Thought this new chassis was going to make them more price competitive?
