Mine: 2010 JSW - 4 years in March with about 62,000 miles. Only issue was a bad battery, which now I wonder if it might have been IC problems, but that was at about 18 months.

Hers: 2011 Golf - 18 months and about 22,000 miles with no issues.

2012 JSW TDI: 25 months and just under 95,000 miles.

One major repair was $953.74 for the air conditioner. No air, or when there was air, it was warm. Never good when you live in a subtropical climate. This happened In May, 2013, so only 18 months, 75,000 mile, after I bought the car. And, of course, I was already out of warranty due to my 150 mile a day commute.

And new Michelin tires at 53,332 miles at a cost of $1,002.81.

Absolutely love the car (sans that a/c incident)...

My 2012 Golf TDI just turned two years old two days ago. 2-18-2014

Currently at 60,240 miles.

Two previous issues;

ERG sensor failed at 1,500 miles

Iced intercooler one year ago at 28,500 miles. Dealer installed the cold weather intercooler kit with no further icing issues since.

Going for ten years and 300k miles maybe more. Love this car!!

Original HPFP? Original DPF? Any IC icing? I like those numbers, that's where I hope to get mine.
Original HPFP, replaced DPF/cat converter at 283,633 (ash load was 300), AC compressor and condenser replaced at 225,300, DMF replaced at 175,326. Everything else pretty much standard maint stuff. Had occasional intercooler problems first winter only. Original front brake pads lasted until 216,143 (rotors were machined and still have not been replaced) and original rear pads and rotors were replaced at 267,194.

I'm aiming for 600,000 but would be OK with 500,000 miles. :)

2011 JSW, bought new in February 2011. Currently 152,000 miles on it. The only failure I've had based on normal wear is the RCV in the A/C system. The dealer only replaces the entire compressor, and quoted $1500 for the repair, but I bought the valve for $44 and for another 100 more or less I should be able to completely effect the repair and have it all going. Non-normal wear from extremely rough and rocky roads has been the destruction of all 4 original alloy wheels, a smashed/cracked crossmember, and a leaky shock in the passenger rear. I do all my own service, and replaced the timing belt at 118,000 miles,(NOT highway miles) oil changes every 10k more or less, DSG oil change at 50k, and brake pads at 135,000. My wife drives the car and doesn't know or care anything about cars, or missing rocks, and does NOTHING gentle with the car. She drives it hard 365 days a year on back roads, and so far, it has held up pretty good. I had switched tire size from 205/55/16 to 205/65/16, and that seemed to lessen the bent wheel frequency. Just this week I have the first modifications planned, and that is a slight lift using towing springs in the rear, and tiguan springs in the front. The passenger rear wheel bearing is not bad, but getting a little excess play, so that will get swapped out too, as will all 4 shocks/struts. All in all, it's done well in spite of the serious abuse it gets.

2011 golf I bought used in late February 2014 with 29k miles. I now have 52k. Only things I've done is oil changes, air & fuel filter replacement.

It's a great car and it's a car that I truly want to keep for a long time.

Up to 135k km (84k miles), purchased new April 22 2011. Lots of problems with this car, too numerous to list. Pretty much every major TDI issue, it's had, plus many not TDI related. Can't wait to get rid of it though I'm thinking of shifting out to our secondary residence across the country, which we aren't using at the moment but will fairly soon. It does drive beautifully when everything's working right though.

On the other hand my wife's, 53k km, a 2013 Golf wagon bought new Dec. 4 2012, has been flawless except for the exhaust flap issue but that didn't effect drivability. My 2011 has had severe drivability issues related to the intercooler condensation issue.

2013 JSW purchased new March 2014. Turned 18k today, 38 mpg life of the car. Love it. A real chick magnet.

.......chick magnet - I had a CorVette once - is somewhat suspect here.

Times do change - maybe factoring in cargo capacity criteria - but I'm still not convinced...................

Humor is where you find it.

Time for a Crown Royal/rocks.........

2012 Golf, Bought new almost 3 years ago in August 2012; 47,3xx miles and only issue I had was a faulty starter at 30k which was replaced under warranty. Just started driving it intensively in the beginning of the year (only drove it for just a hair under 6k in 2014) and already accumulated almost 12k miles of driving since January 1st.

Overall, solid car. Maintenance is always up to date, with the DSG service done at 40k as well as fuel filter, air filter, oil change, and cabin air filter.

2011 JSW purchased 4/2011 97,000 miles on the clock. No issues except HPFP failure at 40,000. Fuel mileage is lower than most, but it's OK.(36.7)

5 years, 65k miles, 2 unscheduled updates to the ECM, one covered by warranty, and a hole in the A/C condenser that was expensive, but not a defect in workmanship.

93K on my 2010, Bought it in December with 74K on it. I drive it 500-1000 miles a week, 3-6 hour trips eachway around Florida for work. I was getting a CEL every once in a while in the spring, but since its gotten hotter, and having put Diesel Clean and Stanadyne in alternating tanks for a month no more lights. Runs like a champ and getting easy 40mpg mixed, 45+ if slow down a little on the highway, more if I draft a rig.

Jetta Sport (Vag-In) 2010, DSG, Bought Dec 2011 Used with 39K... now 76K.
No big problem except replaced engine at 63K in January 2014 with 2013 Jetta Sedan TDI Engine with 1,000 miles ...
I could tell the difference in engines, the 2013 felt stronger and had better economy which only got better.
Engine now has 14,000 and driving great. Fuelly not up to date, but summer time getting 44 mpg tank to tank.
Never see less than 40mpg and best was 51.4 mpg on trip, over 720 miles on a 14 gallons. I did the same going home.

Why did you have to replace the engine?
