How critical on oil change mileage (2015 TDI Golf)

So a couple years ago, we didn't get our 10K miles in within the year, so we ended up about 2000 miles short. This year (right now) , I'm getting the 800 miles to oil change, but my year is in September. Does anybody see why we couldn't roll the extra miles (as long as we keep the oil level OK) ? I have considered the thought of topping up the DEF tank just to be safe on that score (no maintenance warning on that right now, but I did add 2 gallons sometime since the last oil change (had the 1500 mile warning)).

I have rolled 15,000 miles on my 2000 NB TDI on Rotella T6 with no ill effects.

Will it be fine? Yes.

Just change the oil every 10,000 though, regardless of the month. And, as you noticed, the car will give you plenty of notice on when to buy DEF.

I changed mine today after the Covid year……at 17 months but because of Covid only had 4k miles on the oil
