Crap, sorry, vacation 11-21st Aug.. I guess I'll have to make the next oneAlright, let's make it the 13th so everyone has time to clear their schedules.
Cool, you pick it! I fail at scheduling....Why not try to make a date after Labor Day when vacations are over and kids are back in school? Plus, the intense heat may be over by then.
I vote 8thOK, how about we choose from two potential dates?
September 17th?
October 8th?
Texas: Big, hot and...... humid (in Lake Jackson)Hey
Currently live in MN might move to Lake Jackson.
Anything I should know about the big state?
Also I have an airbag light on in my MK4 will that pass TX inspection?
Thanks
Tony
Only time I got an airbag light on mine was when I ran with the airbag light in the center console disconnected. I missed that during my stereo install. Oops.thats lame VW's almost have the air bag light on as a factory option.
Thanks

Thanks
Nice list!Interesting about the airbag light as my bug has passed inspection for the last three years with an airbag light on. In fact, here is the required item list:
1. Horn
2. Windshield Wipers
3. Mirror
4. Steering
5. Seat Belts
6. Brakes (system) (Parking - beginning with 1960 models)
7. Tires
8. Wheel Assembly
9. Exhaust System
10. Exhaust Emission System (beginning with 1968 models)
11. Beam Indicator (beginning with 1948 models)
12. Tail Lamps (2); (1) if 1959 model or earlier
13. Stop Lamps (2); (1) if 1959 model or earlier
14. License Plate Lamp (1)
15. Rear Red Reflectors (2)
16. Turn Signal Lamps (beginning with 1960 models)
17. Head Lamps (2)
18. Motor, Serial, or Vehicle Identification Number
19. 1988 & newer - inspect for window tinting or coating
20. Gas caps on vehicles 2-24 model years old.
I need to find a new State inspection station then.....been using the same shop for years. They tried to get me to replace my dueled out and baffled mufflers on my Chev. pickup but I won that argument with a receipt and call from the install shop.Yeah, safety has nothing to do with it... you can have wipers and no windshield, seat belts and a milk crate and it'll pass... so long as your headlights are securely fastened, and your tail lights don't have red tape on them.
Congrats on the car! Now start modding.I'm back in town with the new JSW...ready for a meet-up, if we can breathe out there.
I'm off on Friday if you wanna meet up. I can get the basic VCDS stuff in for you at the very least. Plus it gives me a chance to oggle the new waggie. You better believe it....soon as I recover from last month's pool project that went $7k over budget. EEK!
