Let's plan one for, say April 9th. I suggest we meet up around 45 and 1960 and cruise up to Conroe to Papas on the Lake.

Just to let everyone know, im Co-Founder of West Houston Muscle.
The funny thing is I drive a Golf TDI(it was my freinds idea to start the club WHM I just help out).
Anyways, every Saturday we meet at the 59 Dinner at I-10 and Fry from 4-7pm.
Depending on the weather we get 50-100 Muscle cars out. We have a roped off section for it.
Near our event there is more parking outside the roped section and if you want good parking before the spectators start showing up then it would be wise to be here at 4pm.
My name is Adam and if im not there(I work some weekends) then Sean is the founder and you can talk to him.
Hope to start a TDI meet in Houston, Adam.

Hey guys and girls. I live in clearlake and am new to the whole TDI scene. I have a 99.5 TDI that i picked up for next to nothing and have been putting alot of time into it. Anyway, i was curious if there was any get togethers soon or anyone around the area of clearlake? Looking forward to meeting some new peeps and seeing some other rides. There isnt any tdi meets coming but there is the European Ag meet coming up which is on the first friday of May. Check out the website www.europeanag.com. Welcome to the TDi club!

Houston GTG? We're in! Husband and I would be thrilled to get a real-life car group going in this area. We miss the old get togethers and chatter over fries and drinks and oogling each others' cars. (other cars and other cities and days gone)
I'd be glad to set something up if you folks are game.

Thanks. I like it. Actually, since I have today off, I got most of the Votex body kit install finished as well. It's too hot now to keep working with the glue, but I'll do the front lip tonight.Besides, I'd LOVE to see your JSW. Sounds really gorgeous. Can't bear the wait on mine.

What crossbars are they? VW? Whispbars, maybe? Can you fit four bikes up there, do you think, or would you need bars that extend past the side rails?

They're Whispbars. I've got two Yakima Highrollers on there since I took the photos, though I'll wait till tomorrow evening to grab some shops I could throw a third one in between facing backwards, but I've already got a Thule hitch mounted bike carrier if I need more than two bikes.
I got the 4 bike rear if I'm carrying roadies. For mountain it can only handle the weight of two, and two on top.

Are you happy with the Whispbars for their price? The extended version are the ones I'm thinking I'll get. I don't want to spend the extra money. But, I'll be hauling bikes 3 days a week, at least 45 minutes each way, depending where we go and how many other errands we run while we're out. Rack will probably very rarely come off. If it's THAT much better than a Yak or Thule, I'll cough up the extra dough.
I have four bikes to carry, but all light. We all race BMX. The 6 yr old has a 10 lb bike, the 2 yr old has a 13 lb bike. Mine is 24. Hubby is building one right now, probably about 22. Thing is, they're all different sizes, so that may help or hinder getting them all up there. Mine's a 24" cruiser. His is an XXL 20". Son's is a 20" mini. Daughter on a 16" pit bike with 14.5" top tube. Really, really, really want to avoid a rear rack, if possible.
That looks hot with the bike dangling. Love a sexy little wagon doing its job, I really do. I'm DYING for tomorrow to get here and to hear back from a couple stealership folks about the cars they're finding me. (Blue from one dealer, red from another. Why aren't they finding the same cars in their systems? Grr.)

RAIN ALL WEEK? I gotta run out and wash all my cars, water my plants, hang my laundry, plan a pool party... I must do all I can to ensure we get some rain.
Thanks for the additional pics! I will definitely have to have the add'l length bars. Think I'll hit a shop that sells racks locally and see what I can figure out before ordering the wrong stuff.
I really want to find racks that leave the front wheel on. I won't have much space in the interior for wheels and BMX racers don't have quick release. I can do it if I have to, but I'm already pressed for time to get two kids ready to race twice a week and hubby's often out of town. I don't need to be reattaching wheels, too.
Of course, the 2 year old's bike may well not work with any of the styles that leave the wheel on. We'll see. Maybe the claw that grabs the frame....maybe.
