Any of you all interested in a happy hour or two or three in the Houston area? I'd be happy to set it up if anyone is interested. I'm real flexible on areas of town. Clear Lake, Upper Kirby, Heights, Midtown, Near/Far NW. Weekend happy hours are great also. I like the Gingerman in Rice Village, but its insane there during the holiday season. Very limited parking and alot of traffic.

Since its my idea, I'll throw one out there....

Date/Time: Dec 16 after work, maybe 5:30 or 6 pm till whenever
West Alabama Ice House
1919 W Alabama St
Houston 77098

The place is on West Alabama between Shepherd & Kirby. W. Alabama is between Westheimer and Richmond.
Lots of off street parking, pool, no taps, everything is bottled, relaxed, stress and snob free kind of place. Its an ice house, so wood benches scattered about. Good visibility of the parking area so we can gawk at each other's cars.

I'll be there.... Any takers?

I don't think school starts until the following week so I should be able to make it.

Smart man! I got a G1 recently and love Android, and having all my Google mail, calender, and contacts everywhere I go.

I'm clear for school and in for sure.

Your bail might make a few cervezas gratis expensive in the short term.

:)

That said, I'll buy ONE round for all you TDI kids, nada mas.

Dang it... I'm bailing again... ;-( what a bummer especially with Jonny being there. You're a hoot bikeprof.
Going to be up past Austin Fri & Sat. On the bright side I should get to set some stuff on fire with diesel and drink some beer too. ¡How fun! Next time for sure guys.

Green Mesquite is where you need to go in Austin for eats. Majority of their stuff is good, havent tried their Chikin Fried Chikin but I hear its is the best...

Steve, how is the gas mileage in that new VW-auto of ur's?

So I am back!
(forgot to purchase Brazil beer, Jay, it is OK...)

Thanks Jonny I will be in Spicewood but I'll see if I can't get over there for some good food.

Haha right what mpg? Last tank in the cold weather we were having was quite low 20's... ;-( But I have a short trip to work still. It is only about 5 miles. Still trying to figure out just how I can get back in a TDI though. Now that I have my speed fix taken care of in other ways... ;-) and the bike gets about 40 mpg to boot.

Pre happy hour bump! First round is on me...just so you all have a reason to show up. Come drink, socialize, brag about your mods, fuel economy and big tubos.... Rain or shine....

Jan 15 @ West Alabama Ice House

I'll be there between 4:30 or 5 pm depending on when I can get out of work and traffic. Bring your jacket, it's a mostly outdoor beer joint.

my cell is 713-294-8987...I drive a Green 4-dr golf.

OK. Jay, I'll try to be there with my Colorado winter stuff 'cause this darn Houston humidity really sucks!
What are the cross streets to the ice house?

Steve, now that you have an almost empty garage...
get an older lightweight car and do the TDI insert to it, I know that 70 MPG should not be any difficulty(but for a 5 mile commute, lololol!)
