Hotter ambient temps cause regen to cycle more?

I've had my NMS since early November and recently the outside temperature here in the lower desert have risen to the 90's, though \the last 2 days it's only been in the high 70s low 80s.

When it was hotter I did notice the regen cycling more. Off hand I'd say 50% more often.

Is this normal?

Just curious.

Unless you drive over 200 miles per day, you shouldn't be seeing that many regens. For me, it's approx every 300 miles.

Also don't confuse "fans on" with regens, our '12 at 80K ran coolant very hot before buyback even when not running a regen, quite frequently parking in the garage fans would be on but it had def not been regenning. I marked it up to the horrible coolant system of the Gen2 system and possible radiator clogging.

Mine is also 300-350 miles. But it will run the fans at a lower speed whenever I turn off the car if the air temperature is over 70 degrees. Any place I drive is at least 20 miles away.

monitor the coolant via ODBII port, it's prob 220-230F and the fans will run when shut down.

IMHO a ScanGauge II is must for these cars, I added mine early on. Water temp, boost, EGT, dpf temps are displayed at all times. I typically take it easy for a mile or two before reaching my destinations and then idle until egts come down and drop below 275F, ~ 1-2 minutes.
