Hood wont open

Was in a low speed fender bender and the bent fender pushed the hood over and it looks like the loop that fits into the hood latch is bent and now I cant open the hood.

The hood release inside has almost no resistance but I can pull the hood up to release the plastic pull.

Pulling on the plastic pull does not release the hood loop.

Any thoughts on how I could release the latch?

Try crawling underneath the car. You may be able to reach up past the fans and release it that way. It's tight,but can be done. May help to have an assistant to pull up on the hood.

You could try jerking the plastic pull while forcing the hood sideways.
