Pffft, who needs a Shine suspension? Stock suspension and almost-worn-out tires are faster.

Looks like I'm flying solo to this one. Li'l Nuke's got a busy schedule that weekend with a birthday party and soccer team photos. I'll bring the turkey fryer and a couple of birds to drop in.
Ah Man,
I made some activity sheets for the kids and I guess non's going to show up. Anyhow, I guess you get to take them home (mandatory). :D

Peter and Julie,

What do you need people to bring?

cups, ice, drinks, salads, chairs, pizzas, plates, garbage bags, charcoal, propane tank, ice cream, meats, rubber gloves, jello, utensils, chips, what, what, what?

Just name it. You guys should only be supplying the facility and facilities.

Organized fighting at a GTG!! Man, will the other regions be jealous! :D

Jon, don't throw the first punch till we get there!

I have lots of plastic cups and salsa. We will also bring some form of grillable. Is it too late for margaritas?

Varkias.... oh the modding you shall do! Glad to see that things have gotten further along for you. Chippy goodness all around! Have you upgraded your clutch yet? How about your suspension (Shine much?)? No use having all that power if you can't manouver your toy. Welcome, to your first HO5G! good luck! And prepare Thor's hammer to be fluffernuttered! ;)
Oh the bug bit me hard, that's for sure!! No new clutch yet, but I'm putting aside my pennies now that I know what I need. Shine? hmm.... I still need to take a ride in the IBW with the FSD's before I make up my mind for sure ;). I'm not sure that without you there is any chance of thor's hammer getting a proper fluffing! ;):D.

Can't wait to see and meet everyone!

Yep, basically everything. We have even finally used up the JettaJake (?)Ketchup that made it to every GTG in '04...

This place http://www.jbbutcher.com/ is 2 minutes from our house, with lots of yummi grilling things...there is also a grocery store across the street from this place if that helps!

See Corey's post on page 1...he's going to be coordinating the food this time...

...(thanks, Corey!):D

We should try to get some healthy items on the menu, too. We don't want our guest of honor to starve!

Zip - could you send someone your taco salad recipie? I thought that was GREAT!

BG - Any chance you are up to roasting those yummi veggies again?

Iggy - We have 5 pounds of honey...and the grain to go with, I do believe...

Herm - (are you out there?) I would kill (OK, seriously maim) for some of that broccoli salad!

Nuke - Can we fry potatoes or sweet potatoes or other fryables in addition to the (bleah) Twinkies?

Hey, I guess that means we need OIL, folks! What kind, 'nuke?

The insurance on the SAAB (Haggery collectible) doesn't permit use except for car club related (Ho5G is) or repair related (again, Ho5G is) use. I could bring it. Hey... Mass insurance for a year only costs $138 with agreed value coverage. No haggling over the car's value. I say it's worth $5,000, and insure it for that amount, they pay that amount.
The Nissan Rent-ra is a temporary measure to get me through this dark period while the Empire has the upper hand. It is NOT a poetic (pun) TDI swan song.

Julie,
Rumor has it that the HERMinator has a Timing Belt scheduled and won't be able to make it to this GTG. :(
Is there going to be a Food/Fred's collection jar for those of us who are culinary challenged but still want to contribute? :)

Costco TDIers here - not sure how this chipping works. With Jeff being there, does that mean I can get my stock 2002 Golf GLS TDI chipped if I show up, or do I need to purchase some piece first and bring it with me? Thanks.

Now that TDIFest 2006 has come & gone, Ho5G can now resume umm...'normal' operation...whatever that is...:D

Join us Sat, Sept 16th to enjoy (hopefully) a little Indian Summer and a lot of wrenching.

Jeff of Rocketchip will be here, so get your chip before dyno day!

Still no lift :(, so nothing too crazy here. No timing belts or clutch jobs...ask if you have questions regarding what you plan to accomplish.

We will need food & supplies...as usual...;)

Jeez, leave this thread alone for a day and it's a major task to catch up.

George, The Mann filter for the A3 says W840/2 on it. And it's pretty large, bigger than I remember for my Rabbit (but that was a long time ago, well before you were born). Jon, don't you think you've used up all your bad luck: bring the Saab! And if others need parts let me know. I'll bring something to fill out the food list. Oh, and maybe the ecu from my son's Golf: It has an aged version of RC that I think needs updating. But in my house new drivers only get Stage 2.

Anyone want to try out the FSDs? If not, I may come up in the A3 to keep Chris's car company. And to bring on wheel envy.

I'm not sure but I'll try to make the veggies - I will need to get to the supermarket, which depends on getting there.

Then there the arrival time - I may only be there at noon at the earliest (and only stay long enough to check out why I've got check engine light. Depends on the mood of a 2 year old that will be present in the car (with his father).

I might make a variation of the veggetable mix - steaming them and seasoning them. We'll have to see....

I'll be off to Mexico starting Sunday morning. No need for a Rent-ra, so I'll turn it in Friday pm.
