A reminder that I still have some MKIV parts available that I can bring up with me. Check HERE.
I'll take the dogbone mount. I do plan on attending, unless schedule was changed today, I have Mon-Thurs. off. I'll bring the new OEM door lock module, just would like assistance and guidance, I don't do well taking apart doors... Powderhound said he can assist, anyone else I'd sure appreciate it. I just hope nothing happens like the last time I went to a H05G GTG with my B4:eek:. I have a passenger front fender for a B4 if anyone wants it, decent shape, just hanging in garage now...

Turns out that Powder Hound isn't taking the BBS wheels after all. Anyone else up that way interested, or do I put them back in the garage overhead for the time being?
Thinking about the wheels. Trying not to think about the wheels. Too many wheels.

Hey guys - check it out!
We have a food thread this year. Please visit it and let us know what you're bringing for eats/drinks. Everyone can plan better that way...

THANKS!

So, we just got call from our friends in Alexandria, NH, where we were headed, and who live on the side of a hill in the middle of 250 acres, that their road is impassable due to ice, so we will not make it. :(:(

We are in Ithaca for the night. We’ll have a perfect weather window between two snow storms tomorrow. See you all in the evening! :)

I'll check weather tomorrow night- I saw somewhere that there was going to be an icing event between Syracuse and Albany. I can handle snow, but I'd rather not deal with ice:mad:....

Yes, it does. We were in RI looking at property for a couple of days and getting ready to head out when we got the call. We had to cancel all of our plans to visit friends for the rest of the week...

That stinks :(...

I am a newbie and know no one, but I think I am gonna jump in the wagon and come on down and meet some tdi folks, if you all don’t mind. Will be the first longer distance after engine swap. Probably get there early to mid afternoon...

Came down with a pretty bad cold, so it turns out I'm not going to make it today. Have a great time everybody, and happy new year! Maybe I will see you all next year

Happy 2020 to everyone who made it! Our problem was that we were heading north to central NH to spend NYE with friends and their road was iced in. There were over 200 accidents, 3 involving semis, between where we were in RI and where we would have been heading. Sorry we missed it, but I think we made the prudent decision. Best to all!

Happy 2020!

The roads were great for our trip today.

Hi,

Recent visit with family reminded me, again, that I am no longer part of their germ pool. It would be unkind and imprudent to pass my crud.

Sorry, cannot make it today.

A Great Time

I got there as early as I could, had an appointment to help someone with their repair, myself for my own similar repair (both involving driver door disassembly), then an additional fix or attempt to fix my hard limp mode problem.

And all of them were successful. Yay!

As always, there were really great people, lots of fun stories, and some great food available as well. All in all, the best GTG of the year so far, and the rest of the TDI Club will have to really struggle to beat this one.

Thanks for everything, Peter and everyone else!

Cheers,

PH

Thank you to Peter and Julie for once again(and maybe last) opening up their home to all of us TDI nuts. It is very much appreciated.A special thank you goes to Powder Hound (Eric) for taking the time to help with install of drivers door lock module-it is nice not having the stupid car re-lock itself before you can start it and lights coming on when opening door:D. More thanks go to everyone who brought food, and to Peter for bringing some TDI Club goodies for attendees. I left just after 9pm, had a couple short nap breaks, including what turned out to be an almost 3 hr successful first visit to Turning Stone Casino, and pulled into my driveway around 9:45am. It was great seeing the familiar faces and some new ones. It is sad to see how the decline of attendance to this GTG has progressed over the last few years, I considered it a mini TDI-Fest. It truly has been a pleasure getting to know all of you over the years of attending.....

Thanks, Peter and Julie for hosting the best GTG of the year, every year! It was definitely worth the effort to see so many TDI friends, even though there may have been more talk about EVs than diesels!

Thanks, also IBW for your patience and generosity in chauffeuring me around for the day.

I am looking forward to next year!:D

I really do not know where to start. Well new attendees I hope you did learn a lot here. There was a HUGE wealth on knowledge and experience here. Yes EVs did enter the conversations and many test drives were experienced and yes there was a Chevy cruze here thank you Jack for bringing it here.. To those who partook of our warm garages I hope you all made it home and your repairs will continue to operate well into the future. NutsnBolts Thank you for wanting me to witness 600,000 mi in your Jetta. That was truly a lifetime event not many achieve that. To all and I mean ALL out TDI friends and those that no longer have them you are all appreciated and loved beyond measure. It is a comforting thought that this forum has created a network of enthusiasts that we can call upon if needed for help in the US & Canada. We here have experienced many life events the TDI wedding, Our own TDI best man, the change of TDIparts to ID parts, to Peter & Cory for parts helping keep our TDIs running, Mr Chill has the can do knowledge to know how to keep these cars operating, establishment of life partners and to most of all friends lots of friends. We have been there for the good times and those times that hurts the heart the most. To those that helped in bringing food and consuming it really helps us do this.

as 2021 looms way in the future we will not gather here, Julie and I are considering a summer gathering rather than a cold one. Somehow it just would not feel right not to have we crazed TDI owners gather and lament the end of these silly diesels but gather to celebrate the keeping them running and re engaging old friends and of making new ones..

Thank you all Peter & Julie

Peter, that sounds like a great idea! My New Years has changed so that it’s a lot harder to sign out long enough to make a quick run to HO5G! Having it in the warmer months just makes sense!

To all the TDIclub members that I’ve gotten to know since 1998, and the new ones too, HAPPY NEW YEAR! Let’s start the 20’s off well. Drive safely, and enjoy all the miles going by! Torque, baby! :D

Jack, sorry I missed you on New Year's. By the way, I don't think you own any of the cars in your signature. May be time for an update!

Well, I'm guessing that with situation that is going on and daily changing rules from the state Dictator(NY) and for the health and safety of us TDI fans, I'm going out on a limb and gonna guess nothing is happening New Years Day 2021....
