Hitch

Looking to add a hitch to my 2012 Passat TDI. Mostly for a bike rack, but I might look at a small trailer to mount a rooftop tent to and hang kayaks off....

What can a TDI pull safely? Does anyone have a link to a receiver? Wiring harness ideas?

I have an ecohitch brand and I like it.

I can't remember what I used for wiring, it was a kit from etrailer though. I've really only used the hitch for a bike carrier but I wouldn't be scared to pull a trailer that weighed up to what the hitch was rated for.
