99.5 Golf 2-door with over 520,000 actual miles. Odometer reading of 503,600 miles is 6% under due to oversize tires. Completely original power train including the clutch. 53 mpg lifetime average. This is an amazing car!

I am sitting here with 194,300 miles on my car. And, I was wondering how many other folks have high mileage cars. I have seen at least 2 others with more miles but I believe there are others. So lets see.

I forgot to add this part. I bought mine in Sept 99

Impressive! Stock clutch and all

I had a M-B 220D -71 which had about 750 000km on the odo, but that's a low tech engine built to last forever, your Golf's mileage is a greater achievment!

Wow. I have been gone a long time...

My (well, now my son's) 2001 Jetta has 246,000 miles and still going strong. Replaced the clutch about 5,000 miles ago. Replaced the MAF and glow plugs and steering rack so far, but everything else is original. Had it since new.

I love these cars, I love these cars, I love these cars!

If I could afford to buy another I would.

OK I rarely post but I have a 2002, Jetta TDI and this last week I turned 232,000, few bumps in the road, water pumps 2, belly pan 2, highly recommend the panzer skid plate, easy to install, but it doesn exactly what I need to it do, gets well over 40 mpg for my 60 milesone way commute to work.

220,000 miles last week but down for a no-start issue right now. Hopefully less than half done with the odometer. Oil change ~ every 45 days.........

You are a prime candidate for UOAs and extended drain intervals. All highway is easiest thing on the engine and oil.

57k miles on my 05 PD Jetta Wagen TDI.
UPDATE:
"Only" 338k miles on my 02 Golf and it's still way too early to tell how long it will last.

My 05 PD JWagen's timing belt failed at 76k miles and trashed the engine. The car is currently at mrchill's shop waiting to get a new PD engine installed plus all performance upgrades we can do while everything is apart. It will soon be better than new when it's all done.

Just passed 207k and the AC compressor is shot, once that is fixed I hope I can drive the car for another year or so.

See siggy for current mileage........
Our '04 has had a flywheel and clutch replaced at 250,000 a intake hose replaced an alternator pulley and some where around 200,000 someone stole the EGR cooler and a lift pump died (actually the housing cracked from top to bottom) at around 210,000 but it still ran for 30,000 or so. Replaced the struts and shocks at 215,000 as they were long gone. I got chipped with a RC1+ at 245,000 (if you got a PD get a RC1+ or similar tune you'll have a car that the factory should of released in the US market 135+HP and 230+ftlbs). Still waiting for the OE brakes to wear out but will replace them at 300,000 no matter what. Checked the cam at 265,000 and all looked good will check again at the 300,000 TB change. With a gentle foot I can still get 775+ mile tanks.

Thats amazing. I hope to get the that milestone...

I got 160k and small things here and there seem to be dieing faster than I can bring them back to life. Still, I love Marcy (that's her name ;)). Besides, buying new car parts is fun!

My 1998 Jetta Tdi is at 302,000 miles. Still have the original back brakes, A/C compressor, clutch etc.

This car just does not wear much.

I will post my repair history etc when I get some time.

510,000 kms (317,000 miles) on my 02 TDI. Original clutch, turbo. Wife keeps asking when I'm going to buy a new one. I almost traded it in at 100 K to get best trade in value, but looking back I would be on my fifth car since 02. Worry less, drive more.

322,000 on my 2000 Jetta, just changed relay 109 today, it finally gave up. Will likely be needing a starter soon, otherwise just normal maintenance.

Jetta GLS, 2004, could only find silver
185k on the 2004 Jetta. Still going well, albeit the hard start issue that I'm trying to work out. Need to get the intake cleaned, haven't done that yet. Did it a long time ago on the '03 I used to have, and think I'll get someone else to do it on the jetta's next timing belt change.

that should be by years end.

No longer own one.
Just over 170,200 miles on my '05 MkIV Jetta TDI. I've done every oil change with 505.01 (once with 506.01) oil. Had scheduled TB maint. done by a TDI Guru, RC Stage II chip since about 40k miles. Have had no issues so far, other than a few minor brake issues. Car has the tiptronic auto with fluid changed at about 110k miles, still shifts precise and strong (as much as an auto tranny can...). Most every fill up, it has gotten a 16oz dose of ashless 2cycle outboard motor oil for added fuel lubricity, and about once a month, I add a bottle of power service.

Not sure about cam wear, although it runs the same as when it was new. I tried to check the cam last summer, but couldn't get the darn EGR valve off the intake to remove the valve cover. I got the EGR Valve bolts off, but the thing wouldn't budge! I'd like to take another crack at it sometime in the near future.

Have never cleaned the intake, though it seems to run as good as ever. Haven't ever changed the MAF either - was always doing it on my '00 Golf TDI though...
