Have a 2010 jsw tdi dsg with 200k on the clock. Runs perfect. I’m pretty damn sure it’s faster than my 2012 jsw tdi dsg car with 100k on it

I got lucky on old 2micron CP3 pump, sold the filter kit to someone else, running the CP3 the old school way with oem VW filter set up.

best kits I've seen are whitbread, Xman CP3 kits.

cranking 10 seconds? thats... not... good. hope it is the battery. how old? I had 2 batteries crap out on me last summer, 2 years old basic VW el-cheapo batteries. (that ticked me off lol cuz it caused other problems) went with the actual recommended VW batteries with 72AH.

since I installed them, they started up at ease.
MmmmHmmm...funny that this'd be in the long chain of experience with my JSW. I had the battery die in the last yr or less. It had been "SLIGHTY" slow to turn over OCCASIONALLY....then one afternoon I was out runnin' a few Lyft rides, it had started multiple times that day no problems, then..., it went into "safety" mode. It turn over, fire up, nd immediately die. Had to have it towed, thought it might be the anti-theft or the key fob chip goin' bad. Dealer diagnosed....bad battery. It exemplifies that any of these modern cars with HEAVY computerization REALLY want to see FULL amperage/millivolts when the key is turn on.

When you say Halsey, do you mean Halsey Import Parts and Service ?
I think so. They weren't particularly interested in communicating about it though. Pretty curt and kinda' rude. The original owner isn't there anymore from what I gathered

Yep batteries dont last 3 years on those TDI’s in Florida…. Heat… wear and tear…. If yours is at 2-3 years old, there you go.

Funny you say this. Most customers south in WPB to Miami area are looking at 18mo as not unheard of for needing a battery. At the same time I got 5-6 years out of mine, but then I also had 163K miles and original brakes.

Back to original topic - we have an abandoned 2010 sedan I think has 212k miles. Looks clean and as far as I can tell there is a unconfirmed issue with the DSG. Might see what the current status is on title and pick it up for commuter

Ha ha I am in central FL. I go to Orlando almost everyday. The heat is brutal as My manager from Miami (she still lives there) she comes here and said “whoa Orlando is brutal!” Hence why my batteries tend to die every 2 years. I drive 100-250 miles a day average, start her up about 3-5-7 times a day depending on how many work orders I do for the day itself. Based on my experience on my old 2011 JSW that I bought new on Aug 2010-June 2018 and I put 300k miles on her. Batteries averaged last me 2 years. So yeah 4 batteries total. Lol

Anyway Keep a eye on the CP4. Early CR had “weak” CP4’s. When was that build date? From my understanding, they had weak batch of CP4’s from late 2008’s for model year of 2009’s and early-mid 2009’s. There was a mention of it on this forum a while ago.

Pretty sure I’ve got a dpf issue on the horizon. She’s been doing regens way more often and I’ve got a little soot in the tailpipe. Gonna go to the “dark” side when it fails and starts causing issues
yep thats a telltale sign. lol

My mk6 Golf just rolled over 171k miles (275k kms). Its now my daily and apart from the leaking DPF flex pipe and rust, it just keeps going. Bought it for $2300 usd.

My mk6 jetta on the other hand only has 55k miles is sitting on my quick Jack stands and is waiting for warmer weather.
you got a great deal on that golf!

Just picked up a 2012 Golf with 98k on it. already really enjoy the car. Rides so much better than the 2002 TDI i had.

Yep! Same protector plate kit myself. Good design. I was one of the first customer with 2Micron timing belt protector plate and this whitbread is super close to his original design. I have old cp3.

2010 JSW DSG going on 204K miles and running like a champ... need to calibrate the DSG though, sometimes (very rarely though) it stalls when you're in stop and go traffic.

2011 JSW TDI 6sp, 183k mi. HPFP blew up over the holidays at 162k(20k out of warranty), cost about $5k to fix, but it's the only out-of-warranty repair i've suffered. VW replaced everything in the emissions warranty for free except the engine block, turbo, and HPFP. Got a new cylinder head with 300 miles left on the warranty. Next non-regular maintenance project is DPF delete.

238 when i bought the 2014. Compressor wheel fell off pixie dust all the wY into last tube to intake changed enginge now the trans. Otherwise very clean car. 1500 for engine 1500 trans should have done both upon acquisition would have saved 12 hrs of my time

Ironically my "free" Jetta is a 2.5L and it passed up the TDIs in the total miles club. Only car I've had with more miles was a Sirocco with 756K miles.

Have though of a couple conversion ideas, but funds are always a problem. 2.5TSI or 2.0TDI 4Motion

In the mean time I'll keep running the "free" car (2005 SEL Pk2?) until something better presents itself

Jason

PS: almost forgot - it turns over 170k this week. On pace for 200k this year
