Mine died at 299500 km, head cracked causing coolant loss. probaly due to high egt's. still first CP4 and injectors goign strong

I drove it in about 5 years, around 250km a day and also usually minimum 1 or 2 times over 200kph on the way to work (in Germany, don't worry)

was boosting 1.9 bar midrange and 1.7 ar at 4k

It had 170hp turbo, and dpf delete since new. it would reach 900 degC egt in 3rd gear. sensor died quickly so remaining 250k km I had no more egt limit or idea how high it was. nonethless it has been a brave engine and turbo.

just turned 197,100 today with original rotors/pads, HPFP, suspension. only replaced were timing belt (120k miles), brakes flush 2 days ago, fuel filters, tires/rims (steelies), mostly original light bulbs all over except one brake light blew. this is the most reliable car I've owned.
Sounds like you have a great car!

I'm contemplating getting an 2010 A3 with 130k miles. Full service record from dealer.

Is this the same 2.0 motor as in this year Jetta. Sorry for sidetrack but some very impressive mileage numbers here. I have a converted 5 speed TDI Passat 05 with 280k miles.
But I have been intimate with it on lots of occasions.

The A3 is DSG only. It's also known to not get quite the mpg that can be had on the jetta and golf. Something more like the Jetta Sportwagon for MPG. So around 37mpg on average. Though you could do better or worse depending on where you are and how you drive.

The 2010 A3 has the ea188 common rail motor. Same motor is in the 2010 jetta/golf. Which doesn't require DEF / Adblue . The new jettas have the ea288 motor which does require DEF. I'd check the service record for a timing belt/water pump service recently.

Not quite a CR but a MkIV Golf with 247k miles with an interior that looked 40k at most. Would make oilhammer happy, it was a 2slow, but with AG4.

Just passed 113K a few days ago. Apart from the intercooler icing issue the car has been completely trouble free. The third oil change will be on Friday and apart from that all I've had to do is replace the front low beams.

After seeing the most recent posts I'm realizing mine is a high mileage :D

116K on our 2012.

A couple of you are saying you got or plan to get TB changed around 120k but I thought the interval was 130k. I wasn't planning on mine until 130k.

136,XXX on my 2012 ;)

The TB interval changed from 2011-2012. Pre-'12 it was 120K, for our MY and up it switched to 130K. I haven't done mine yet, but I have the kit and tools in my garage, just need time enough to do it.

Not really worried; if these things generally fail in the 130-140K range VW would have made the interval 100K for a safety net... :D

Mine's 200K just rolled last Saturday, now 200,300 as I'm on vacation now. 200k are almost all the driving from my work miles which are all based in Florida. Still sporting original HPFP, brake rotors and pads (still good around 25% left) and shocks. Timing belt done at 120k and will do at 240k.

Had a couple more show up this week. A 176K CR with MIL for P0401, 210K PD for rattle, exhaust leak, etc., 173K PD for oil change that is starting to rattle and has soot in air filter from EGR cooler leak.

But the point is they all run great and customers still love them.

130k on the clock now. Things done so far includes a timing belt at 120k, EGT sensor at 98k, failed HVAC flapper motor at 42k miles, deaded DPF at 37k miles which was ripped out, and a shorted BT microphone replacement somewhere before 36k (warranty). Still stock rotors and pads. HPFP has been pumping along fine (knock on wood).

just used the unit conversion feature @ the top of the page so for all of mein American cousins my 422000kms roughly converts to 267k miles on my '09 jsw. lots of bits & pieces re:maintenance & repair. some expensive, some not, just like I expected. still loving its perfect utility/versatility & still driving the devil out of it! having a good guru nearby helps immensely(thanks Brandon @ DCB).

Hello, well I bought my 13 in sept of 12. I'm at 225,000 on the clock currently. Only one timing belt and water pump, "preventative maintenance" and like 7 sets of tires. I install cctv and security systems in the state of Texas. It's my new found work truck. I'm going to do timing belt and water pump again. Now, at 225k I am having issues. Passengers side erratic vibration at 30 to 40 mph and the dpf light has come on. I'm thinking about deleting that. Any suggestions?

If your DPF went at 295K then you went over 100K of what it is supposed to last.

Well it's still going strong. Light came on is all. I had a cabin full of exhaust one time.....lol. But after that fart it's been behaving. I just have been thinking about deleting all together. Possibly increase my mileage.

It's obviously cheaper to delete then to replace.

And without a doubt I have more respect for people that have fully exhausted the emissions equipment, and then removing, other then to just think they can't have it, and spend $ immediately to remove it. It is there for a reason, at least use the **** until it doesn't work anymore.

You'll have better gains financially to replace an emissions system that has met and exhausted it's life expectancy, then spend money removing a functioning system.

"if I remove this I'll save and recoup in fuel later", in one of the highest mileage vehicles available, is ridiculous.

Those that delete under warranty were probably raised and fed with a silver spoon.

I tend not to be so judgmental about it. I replaced mine w a downpipe at 100k miles. If I had done it at 100 miles, I would have saved roughly $700 in fuel. By 200k miles that would be roughly $1400 in savings. You could also sell the emissions gear from a very low mileage car for a fair amount- maybe $500 or more. Plus other factors like extended turbo life, less visits to the shop come into play.

The only reason its there is for the EPA fanatics, nothing more. Lets see, supposedly cleaner air or use more fuel! Hmmmmmmmmm.

All I know is I'm tickled turdless with the car. I hope to get a million out of it. I'm gonna save money on upgrades and recoup in savings. I look forward to driving it every day I get up. Lol

Good to hear. You sound like the ideal candidate for a tdi.

Per your maintenance schedule, at 120k miles the DPF is to be checked for ash loading (175ml being the prescribed limit). If it's still O.K., check every 10k thereafter. Apparently you have been doing this.

(and if you poo-poo that statement......as your DPF clogs, it does more frequent regens and your mileage goes down, so don't expect to wear that as some sort of badge of honor that you just wait until you're leaking exhaust from your EGRs, and you're only going by idiot lights, and your mileage is getting crappy.....)

At 182k miles, mine clocked in at 156ml, so I'm getting close.

Wjats the limit? This one I picked up is 230k @ 250mL

Cracked, egr pressure code, and funny smells.

Cold starts without waiting for glow plug I can smell serious exhaust from hood/in cab. I bet it's plugged and pushing/flowing a bit harder then at mile zero!

Really? Still regens and no light! Hahaha.

I do notice they're frequent, and longer.

On one regen I was lazy and short trips, light came on, 38g soot.

30 miles of burn off, while logging and doing a hard juice and boost up a loong Hill in high gear, turbo temp bumped 810*C.

Maybe it's time to delete before seals get cooked.
