Thinkin about some 55w 10000k for the lows from ddm tuning. Had some 35w 10000k in my truck's lows. Dont want to hear it about the reflector housing either!:D Anyone have any installed yet? If so post your pics plz.

Where can you get HID projector housings for 2011's? Heard they were not out yet from Hella and other aftermarket lighting manufacturers?

Nit above 4300K, but 5000K is also very good.

This is what I want: these were made by fifteen52 and here is a thread from
VWvortex - http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthre...r-headlights-now-from-fifteen52-for-Jetta-Mk6

Hopefully something will be available. That or I will get the Euro housings for these cars.

I know you said you didn't want to hear about the reflector housing and HID's, but the reflector housings don't focus the HID light and instead scatter it actually giving you less light. I know it seems better but the light isn't in the right places.

It's too bad the new GLI isn't coming with projector housings with HID's.

I really wish that fifteen52 hadn't decided against producing those lights. I really wanted them. I'm still on the hunt for some projectors now. It's just a matter of time before someone releases a decent solution.

Yeah that's true, but there was talk of a DIY article from them on the lights and that could be interesting. Still waiting.

Sorry for the delay in uploading pics for the wall shot of the HID's.
Leaving to NY for a month on a business trip so everythings all busy.

Anyways, here they are =)

They are not that high up, so it doesn't blind the cars in front.
The temps for these lights are 8000k.

Thanks for taking the time for the pictures. Did you re-aim the lights down? Doesn't look like the light scatters too bad. Also seems like our lights have an aggressive cutoff as well. Thanks again and enjoy the business trip if you can.

I haven't done any adjustments to the lights, I just installed the HID ballast and the bulb, and that's how it was.

I think the aggressive cut-off is because of our sexy eye lines on our cars :)

Hope it helped :D

For best performance from xenon lighting you should not go above 6000k. You actually lose visible light. 43000k is ideal.
absolutely. that 10,000k bulb is actually throwing somewhere around 20-30% less light than your typical OEM 4300k, not to mention the resulting color output will glare significantly more off of anything even remotely reflective, ie, wet roads. Its a net loss all around really. And look, I didn't even mention the housings!

Not with 55w. It would be like that with 35w. I have seen 10000k 55w and they are almost all white with a blue tint.
